Until we fix the lines we are not going anywhere. That justifies spending each pick on lineman. What that does is set up this franchise for several years. It won't be pretty but it will be extremely valuable.

Just because we need linemen on both sides of the ball doesn't mean that's the value with all of our draft picks.

I'd remain true to BPA, but with so many positions consisting of the offensive and defensive line, there's really no excuse to not get a few linemen in this draft.

If the Cowboys cut Costa, the only guards under contract are Leary and Bernadeau, the latter being the only remaining backup center to Frederick. So is the plan now to draft a combo guard/center, or are we back to the ridiculous idea of moving Free to guard and Parnell to right tackle? With defenses surely trying to put the big hurt on Romo to test his back, the O-line needs depth that can step in and protect the QB. So what's the plan?
Use the first 4-5 picks this May on offensive and defensive linemen. Three DL and two OL would be a nice split. This team needs to get bigger and better up front if it wants to compete for playoff berths, division titles and Super Bowls. I hate to sound like a broken record, but this team needs to focus on its two lines this offseason.

Would you guys agree or disagree with Gosselin on this ?

I would probably bring Costa to Training Camp and cut him if whatever new players prove themselves.

Most teams only have to players that are legit options at Center. The Cowboys don't have to add a Center, but they desperately need more depth at Guard.

The OT Weems has practiced to some extent at Guard. He has the build at 6-5. 320 to play either Guard or Tackle.

OG is one of the deepest positions in this draft. WR might be the only position that is deeper.

The one thing that sucks is that it appears that if the keep Doug Free on the roster past March, that his salary becomes guaranteed; otherwise, they could cut Free in training camp if Parnell is healthy and has a good preseason. They would have to be confident that Weems or a rookie could be the backup Swing OT. If Free's contract is indeed guaranteed, they won't have much incentive to give Parnell a chance to unseat him.

I think Dallas needs to draft OL within the top 4 picks and felt that way before the release of Costa. I think last year was a step forward to the OL but they need to be able to add to it. I think much of the draft will focus more towards defense but getting a G I think is important

Yep...we should be able to come out of this draft with at least one good OG in the first 3 rounds. HOPEFULLY our scouting or evaluations are a little better when it comes to Olinemen past the first round.:)

Would not be shocked if we took Z.Martin OG/OT from ND with our first round pick.

I think they go DL in the first if a player they like is there but again would not be shocked at all with Z.Martin or possibly one of the other OTs if they fall.

I've heard JJ/SJ can't recall mention they wouldn't reach for a DL if a premier OT were on board (Martin). So you may be right on that call, initially I though Martin could still be there with a trade down to mid twenties but that doesn't seem possible with his stock rising.

McClay has his work cut out for him. Hope his crew can get it right. Outside of Leary and Bernadeau all we have is Chris DeGeare and Ray Dominguez

Those two were cut. They were barrel scrapings.

We should be looking to free agency which starts one week from today.

Rinehart? I know he has injury issues but is superior to both of our current starting G's. Our history of drafting OL after rd 1 (BP) doesn't give me confidence they know how to find gems on the OL, only in your face talents common in rd1/2 (Fred/Smith/FLO/Gurode).

Keep Mack, he's not expensive and can play all 3 interior line spots.

ROFL. Only Goose would write an article complaining hypothetically about depth on March 2nd.

If the Cowboys cut Costa before camp it is because they have another OG in mind for that spot.
Otherwise they keep him and hope he gets beaten out.

I'll make a prediction that these two melvins believe the OL is fixed and ignore it this offseason.

I thought I was going to halt with the likes until I could create a posting cartel to ensure 5 likes for every one post for the membership. You need competition

Then you use the word Melvin and chip away at my subversive down low plan

I would love the pick, BP. He's versatile. He would give the team a ton of options to make other pieces fit. I suspect most of the fans would be flabbergasted by that selection but I'd support it 100%.

People need to accept the fact this team has too many holes to fill in one offseason. Just take good players.

I would love to see this O-Line with five 1st rounders on it.

Totally agree. Smart teams build up the trenches first then get skill players.

He has issued an embargo on giving me my deserved likes. Perhaps we can meet to discuss a pact.
