I have been wanting to post this for awhile, but waited until it was official. I got recommended for a job blogging for the Christopher Reeve Foundation and got the job.
Congrats on your new gig Kristi, I'm sure you'll be a smash!
My cousin is a C5-C6 quad, nearly 19 years post injury. He lives by himself and has an attendant in twice a day for about 2 hours each time. Morning to get dressed and up, and again at night for bed.
He's just a few months older than me, and we've been very close since we were kids. I "work" for him almost daily, helping him with meals, errands and other odds and ends.
In the early part of the decade, he partnered with me in a commercial catering company I was buying from a foreclosure, and I made him incorporate the company, with him listed as the principle.
This required he come up with the corporation name, by-laws, order of officers etc. He faxed me over the incorporation papers to review and sign one afternoon, with the name "MOW Enterprises Inc" on the folder.
Confused, since this acronym isn't even close to his initials or anything else I could conceive of relating to him, me or what the business did (food service).
Finally I called him and asked, "Eric, *** is MOW Inc... we're not some GD lawn service ya water head!!??"
He dryly replied, "MOW... Meals On Wheels, stupid." then hung-up.
