Got me to thinking, and you know how I hate to think; take a poll

A very fine post the other day by one of my fellow parolees got me to thinking about who'd be the first veteran to be cut, if any.

I would say Stanback. Not because he is that bad but because he's taken up a spot for over 3 years now and has not shown any appreciable spark or talent or consistency in staying healthy.

Corey Proctor comes to mind.
Carp comes to mind, also, but everyone is high on him so far. So gud on him.
Flo, that aged, signal-challenged mutt comes to mind, but no, we are so thin at OL. And he is serviceable and could even make the pro bowl this year

I said Stanback, just because he can't seem to stay healthy. However, on further deliberation that might save him to getting an injury settlement later on. So it will probably be Proctor. Or maybe I hope it will be Proctor more than I think it will be Proctor.

I think Watkins will be the first to go. No only can he not play safety, but his strong suit is special teams, but he also committed half the penalties on ST last year. (at least thats what I read about a day or so ago)

I'd say Watkins. There is a whole slew of safeties on the team now and it appears he's never going to be a starter, so he'll likely be cut. Stanback has the benefit of having no real clear choice as the 5th receiver. Typically we're agonizing over the 6th receiver spot but currently we don't even have a 5th with certainty. Honestly, if they're both gone it would likely be at the same time (i.e., the final cuts).
