Actually, your post was helpful. When you add reference e to your s3.
Yeah,I check the comparison forums and videos often. Just wanted comments from the board. Maybe more real/honest than some "reviews"
If there is anything else you can mention... Ie. Comparing it to your s3 that would be great.
Yeah, last phone I really got excited about was razr flip phone.... After that the note, but had to wait for note2 because the first note was only AT&T I believe?
I got the Note2 on Verizon nov 2012
I don't care for the fingerprint scanner. I wanted to set it up so I just could swipe my thumb down from an angle instead of straight down. However it would not read it when I tried to set it up.
This is one area where the wife's Iphone 6+ is far superior, you just rest your print on the button and bam it is in.
However I guess if one wanted to swipe straight down while using the other hand to hold the phone it would be ok.
So far the heart rate monitor takes some getting used to...It keeps saying I need a better placement of my finger and it seems to take a few times before I get it right, but that is just a learning curve I guess and I don't know if I will bother too much with it as I doubt I would use it much after the initial new/cool feeling passes.
It might just be me but it seems like both S Voice and Google Now work better. Just seems more responsive and quicker although it will still mess up a word here and there.
The settings layout is a little different so that takes some time getting used to what is where and of course that will probably change again with Lollipop but again that is just a learning curve to get used to.
I think where the screen is so large and I do not have a case on it yet, I tend to launch apps with the side of my palm when I am putting it into my pocket. I only realize I do it as I hear it make a noise so I pull it back out and close the app. Again I think once I get a case on it my palm will not be hitting the screen as much when I am moving it to my pocket.
Where it is longer I am also having to learn the sweet spot for holding it while talking. By that I a mean just a quarter of an inch up or down makes a big difference in how well you hear the speaker when talking on the phone. I normally do not use speaker phone so I just got to get used to holding it at the right place. I think this is just where it is much bigger than my previous phone.
Back to the google now...Although it works better, Sunday it was also sending me notifications and when I went in to see what they were, it was football scores...which I never asked for so I need to see about turning those off. Guess Google seen where I went to look at the scores on NFL.com while using google chrome and figured I wanted them to send score updates...either way as I noted before, I don't like those types of notifications.
You can definitely notice the metal edges on this phone. Without question you can feel them and at first it is pretty nice and all but frankly I have been using a case so long, I am ready for my case.
You have the ability to go in and set up a simple gesture to make the screen smaller (one handed operation) and I tried it and it worked good. But frankly I don't feel the need to do it. I can do a good deal of things one handed but i am also comfortable texting with two hands or browsing forums on my old phone (landscape mode). I will also say that I do not have really large hands and although the phone is a decent jump from what I had I just don't find it unwieldy like some might and I imagine since you have a note the size issue will not be a difference to you.
Ok...that is enough for now. I still need to mess with a bunch of stuff, but I am pretty busy at work and need to get back to it.
