Dallas has 11 sacks through 9 games Henry melton has 5 of them. pay the man and put some draft picks or Free agents around him.

That is 'Great" numbers for a DT. Where the hell are the "Rush men"?

Our offense has masked the flaws of this "D" so far this year and i'm proud of them around 380 ish snaps for the defense Vs around 460 snaps for visiting teams mean more than you think.

when you consider a handful of snaps decide a game..we to this point have the odds in our favor..however, sooner or later..the "Flaws" will surface.

I think after a draft of almost all defense dallas will be a contender next year for sure. They have a lot of pieces here. A legit dline will do wonders.

i know some of you guys don't like him very much but for a few snaps and back up money i will take Hayden's motor and experience in this system.

Spencer ...jury is out on. Too much pride to backup..maybe just needs to finally go.

We all knew this defense was going to hinder this season "If" it came down to that. Now, I'm more worried about our QB to be honist. It's Tony or Dallas really needs to find the "Next"....

Wilbur adds nothing IMO, Hayden is a keeper, makes plenty of plays in the run game and has a great motor. Not saying he has to start, but as a rotational guy he is more than sufficient. Put some better guys around him and he would be fine. Hayden is always getting knocked here and yet I continue to see him making plays. Just a blue collar try hard dude, I say he stays.

We knew this would be a rough year for the DL before the season began, right? We just got Spencer back. We just got DLaw back. Brent will return soon. Finally out of cap hell maybe we can get some FA's and add some more talent in the draft.

T. Crawford has been terrific at DT, but sacks are not an accurate measurement of a DTs effectiveness.

I could see Mincey moving over to LDE when D-Law is ready to start.

If Josh Brent could get back to his pre-wreck abilities, he would be an upgrade at the 1-tech over Hayden.

If they re-sign Melton, then they would just need to add 1 quality DE to take the next step with this DLine.

I don't expect Dallas to rank high at the end of the season in terms of sacks but I do think we will start seeing more and more sacks by this unit. I'm seeing more pressure coming from defense as of late and I think it will only Improve as guys like Lawrence start to get their game legs under them.

I think the question has been answered that Melton has replaced Hatcher. He's getting more sacks now, and seems back to pre injury play.
I had no doubts he would replace Hatcher, but just needed some time.
His contract should get renegotiated to a longer term deal.
He gets more attention, frees up Lawrence and others.

I don't see why it has to be one or the other. To me, we've been at our best when both the offense and defense as playing well. We've already seen what happens when one has to cover for the other in the past several seasons.
