So was listening to local sports radio as I usually do despite the garbage politics they constantly and passive aggressively interject (Which inevitably makes me change stations,) and they mentioned how the games we either lost or gave up the most points in were those Church missed due to injury. Mention of giving up 30+ points without him around (I dunno not a stat nerd.)
Now Church typically leads the team in tackles along with Lee and he's had a few games with picks which has been pleasant but dude plays hard, gets hurt every year and with that misses games, but in my mind he was really a #2. I want a serious upgrade and we possibly can do just that now, it's exciting to anticipate what gets unwrapped here.
Now I want to believe inserting Heath will at the very least be a push be we don't know if he can take that many reps and not get hurt, it can be a violent position at times. Funny thing is he's the one that typically injures other players and not himself lol.
Some say he might be an upgrade, he has more speed and might even be better at covering a receiver, others are skeptical and rightfully so.
In any event I always want insurance. Safety is arguably a Top 3 need along with corner and defensive end (And of course RT, 1-Tech, LB, WR, KR, etc.) Ok I'm getting excited about X-Mas here..
Not a big college football guy Zone so I gotta ask, who could potentially be available and worthy of our 1st or second pick at the safety position? Are there any rangy ballhawk hitters with size? Any sleepers? How long shall we ignore safety?
