by position groups, for their 2008 season sum total effectiveness. (A through F)

QB
RB
WR
TE
O-line
Coaches

Said another way, who did their part, and who didn't.

Injuries count, so the RB effectiveness score will suffer because Felix got hurt, and maybe because Barber got hurt unless you feel that Choice effectiveness made that injury moot.

Interested in your thoughts...

That's actually pretty close to what I'd rate. I'd consider dropping the OL another half grade to C-, but I could live with a C.

I figured at least a winning record doesn't deserve any Ds... but the OL would have been the first to get that grade...

Here's hoping to some A's next season... Especially the QB and RB position.

QB: C+ Three games with Brad. Romo's, at times, killer turnovers.

RB: B- After Felix went down, few big plays. When in 2008 could we truly ride our RB's when we needed to? In Washington, and that's about it.

WR: C+ These guys have to share in the see-saw passing game effectiveness be it drops, routes, disruptive griping, and generally being part of the problem instead of the solution.

TE: A+ This group gets a free pass. Perfect? Probably not, but close enough.

O-Line: C- Applause for the 2nd Skins game when we literally ran out the clock. Kosier injury was a killer with inability to effectively compensate. Flo's injury hurt as well. What was the strength of this unit in 08? Run-blocking? Pass-blocking? Oh, and lets throw in the periodic shot-gun snap struggles for good measure.

Coaches: C Where did the coaches make us better than the sum of individual parts? Where did we overcome injuries with quality backups or creative schemes? Where did our coaches step into the dysfunction and the struggles and move it forward?

PK: A Good to have a money kicker once more.

Good thread, but my thoughts are done with 2008. If you want to talk about the upcoming season and my thoughts on 2009, by all means.

But 2008 is dead to me.

All of the future rankings will come down to how the O-line plays. Right now they are a C and need to get better.

I agree with everyone that our OL is the weak part in our offensive but how could we upgrade it? We are almost stuck with the players we have because of the $$$ and our terrible job at drafting OL. Who would be the first player to replace though? Gurode? Kosier?
