Grade the Tyler Booker picks

I dislike the pick more for what it says about where the team is headed than anything else. Schottenheimer runs the ball. It's what he does. It's all he does. It's why he never has good offenses. But it's clearly what he's going to do here.

B plus. Didn't realize he made a start at Bama at LT. Not sure against who or how he did. Played both guard spots there. After the last two stinker drafts they had to hit on the pick. I feel like they did and with the D Lines in the division they have to be stout on the interior. Would have preferred a franchise QB, stud LT or DT but the draft gives you what it gives you as far as where the talent is in a particular year.

C+ - Sure he will be a good player, but is the only way this team can find olinemen to draft them in the first round?

I had a 2 on him, alongside of Grey Zabel and Donovan Jackson.. After that, guard prospects drop to 3rd round grades & and it's risky assuming Donovan Jackson makes it to you in the 2nd (Zabel went 18 to the Seahawks). I don't have it in me to get upset about the Cowboys drafting a 2nd round grade on my board.

F

We already had solid candidates for Guard on the roster Bass,Hoffman,Jones,Richards.

HORRIBLE PICK
I think the player is a decent pick and likely will be a long time above average starter. Like you said, we already have a ton of bodies competing at G without even mentioning Charles and the other vet they just signed from the Bengals.

B+. He is a plug and play guy who can fill the RG hole. People thinking TJ Bass could be as good a starter instead of a solid backup won’t like this.

We still need some immediate help at WR, RB and DT. I would have preferred a trade down but maybe that wasn’t a real option.

Plus no player can be accurately graded on draft night.

Weird draft class at the top, Booker is a very safe, high floor prospect. As I thought, couldn’t trade back, would of drafted Will Johnson

You want Dak passing 40 times a game?!
I want good offense. Schottenheimer's obsession with running leads to bad offense. Yes, I want Dak throwing the ball because passing is how you win. I suspect he'll be throwing a ton this season because all the running early is going to leave them in big holes late.

D. I mean yeah he’ll be better than Hoffman but does anyone think Booker helps Dallas win more games next season? He’ll do less for this team than Z. Martin did and he went 16. It’s a high round draft pick that will do nothing to make the team better. Warren and Walker will be stars. Booker will be the second best guard on the team who went 12 slots earlier than the best guard on the team.

He is the most scheme fit player that could have been drafted by Dallas. Shotty has specified he wants to run the ball, at least this proves he isn't a liar. I give it a B draft grade. The player is a mauler that gives credence to the run run pass Marty ball offence. He was my 14th overall prospect and it's not a reach for me, I realize I will be in the minority in this. A trade back would have been ideal but Indy, Arizona, Cincinnati could have been options to draft him.

I seriously would have thought about drafting TE Tyler Warren since next years draft is abysmal at that position. If they didn't like trade back options, he is a great value fallback option. Mostly, because he is a safe prospect. Egbuka and him are probably the most likely to be perennial pro bowlers from this batch of players; after the blue blood top 5 guys.

I lost interest in him when Dallas brought in so many Guard options during FA. Expect to draft a gap scheme runner in round 2 or 3 mainly Johnson, Iowa or Martinez, Miami.

Overall, a slight reach but an underrated need that is a plus plus system parameter. This is no longer a spread offence. Dak is a play action quick release QB.

They will try to run over all the teams who are doing the Cover 2 shell approach that has slowed down the rest of the NFL. They have gotten smaller and faster and have done it exponentially. This really gives Dallas the bully ball option, they are getting ahead of the game.

I like the Booker pick. Sorry about that.
