I would NOT have done the things Jerry has but he is the owner and his son isn't THAT much more of a football guy, so I must get used to it.

I would say B+/A-. Call me an optimist.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you qualified to have done better with the draft? What insight do you have with all of the players in the draft?

some on CZ act like Jones makes all these decisions on a vacuum--lots of people make these picks and these are the guys they wanted--have to wait until the end of the FA period to give any grade, and wait a couple of years to give a final grade--just because the media guys, who are rarely correct, love to give grades doesn't mean I will

I love meaningless draft grades.

My turn.

Cowboys Draft Grade for 2013: rhombus.

you're clueless, the grade should either be an apple or an orange, not sure which, just gotta find a way to compare them....

I think this draft is a B.

Frederick is a great player... solid B+ at the end of the 1st round. Dock them a point for the trade down makes him a C+.

Escobar is a C only because we could (and should have gone with better talent at higher need positions on the roster). As a prospect he's a very good TE with a lot of upside.

Williams is an A for where we took him.

Wilcox is a B+.

Webb is a B. Not in love with the fact that we took a CB-- but he's a good nickel corner candidate and a good value where we picked him.

Randle is an A for a 5th rounder.

If we get a decent LB or DT in the 6th and sign Clabo or Winston-- I like this draft. Throw in our penchant for hitting on a few great UDFAs-- and I think we'll be fielding the best team in Dallas since 2007.

C is about right. 1st round was a big reach and we didn't sure up the softest spot of the team which is the lines on both sides of the ball. Frederick is for sure an upgrade, but if Livings and Berny are still starting next to him its not going to matter all that much.

That and passing on Shariff Floyd is going to haunt me for years.

I don't need any. Jerry Jones' record with the draft is all I need to say. We do better with NDFA.

Bump the thread in 3 years & I'll let you know. Right now, I really like what we have done in the draft.

Jerry Jones has played the game of football at the collegiate level.
Jerry Jones has ate, drank, and slept football for the past 20+ years.
Jerry Jones has had his team in position to win the NFC East past 2 years.
Jery Jones has more money than you (and all your relatives combined, ever).

If you don't like Jerry Jones (and his son), wouldn't it be better if you just became a fan of whatever GM you think is great?

based just on the players not where we took them or who we could have had i think a solid B.i think all of them will contribute some this year

Yeah yeah.. Has won NOTHING since the Aikman. We, as Cowboys fans, should have higher expectations than the damm 2nd place in the NFC East title.

Now stop apologizing for Jerry Jones.

We don't have crystal balls, but they did very little to address needs on the ol and dl. They took a guy in the first round, who a lot of people had slated to go in the third round, and they took a tight end in the 2nd round, when you have a hof te on the roster.

I will go C -

Agreed. The ol dl were more pressing needs than te at this moment in time. Also they take longer to develop than TE IMO.

Frederick C
Escobar C+
Williams A-
Wilcox B
Webb B+
Randle A-
Holloman B

Looks like it averages in the B- C+ range with more weight going on the first two picks. Time will tell

I really like the Williams pick too he gives the offense more juice to take deep shots downfield.
