Grading Bobby

Well the Dline from the 2nd quarter on have been getting killed.

Carpenter was active. He made a couple tackles, and had one nice play on a pass.

I actually thought he showed a little promise. Well, early on I thought he was sucking, but he came on later.

Agreed. He played better as the game went on. Mixed review for this game.

I like Burnett, but on those two swing passes he was awful. He looked really uncomfortable.

All of his tackles came after 1st downs made, or nice gains.

You mean as he played against worse players? Bobby REALLY needs to step it up or this staff will bury him on the depth chart again.

Bingo. The man had 7 tackles to lead the Cowboys, but not a damn thing impressive about it. It was freaking ugly.

I won't expect anything out of Carp anymore. He is not an NFL player.

BUST.

Not true at all.

You give him 2 good tackles out of 7 and it's a mixed review? I disagree. If you are 50% on good vs bad, you suck.

No kidding, how many times we he out of place? How many times was he pushed out of place by a second or third stringer?

theogt, he appears to be a real live bust.

AJ Hawk and that Buckeye defense made Carpenter look good at Ohio State.

Should have let Bobby go to New Orleans instead of Fujita.

I saw him eating a lot of blocks from guards all game long. I didn't get the impression that he was afraid of contact but he certainly didnt look good slipping blocks. In all fairness though the Dline in front of him was not exactly doing a ggod job. The whole point of playing the weakside is keeping guards off of him. The full back was hitting the strongside backer and the guards were getting a free release on the other side.

Like i said though he wasnt doing a good job slipping those blocks. He seemed to try to take them and often got pushed back which is not surprising when a guy who outweighs you by 50 pounds has a running start.

:hammer:

I was thinking the same thing but didn't want to take the time to type it.

He played strongside just about all night long.

Trade him to Miami to reunite him with Parcells and his other wasted draft pick.

I don't see why people are so down on Bobby Carp. He made 3 or 4 stops 20 yards downfield. Plus he was consistently the first guy down on punt coverage. He failed to make a tackle on any of them, because he's got the instincts of my 3 month old. Other than that he was solid.

And Burnett? The G-men abused him last year with underneath stuff. He's supposedly our best cover LB, but I don't see it. Heck, Thomas is probably a better cover LB at age 35!
