Today, my son graduated from High School at Texas Motor Speedway. Parents sat in their cars in the middle of the field in the center of the raceway and watched the ceremony on the giant monitor.

While it sucks he had to miss so much his senior year because of Covid, this was a kind of cool thing to do for the graduates.

Congrats to all of the Class of 2020 and to all parents of Seniors this year.

Congrats to your son but I know how he is feeling. My daughters graduated on Friday. We drove our car as teachers line the parking lot and the VP handed them their diploma. They might have something on August 1 but 2020 class missed out on a lot of things. I told my daughters to stay positive things will get better. They are just frustrated because they have been told that their first semester of college will be on line but there is not much you can do.

That's cool! We have several nieces and nephews that graduated this year. My oldest brother lives in Rome and he has been saying Mass for family and friends from all over the world on Zoom. Today he celebrated a mass, blessing and PowerPoint for all of our graduates. It was pretty special.

Congrats to your son and congrats to all of those who celebrated graduation and really so sorry you all missed stuff like the proms and graduations in person. All due to this.

With all due respect for the hard work a lot of these grads have put in, I think this will be good for them. The upcoming generations have a sort of narcissistic personality (collectively) thanks to social media. Learning a life lesson that sometimes it doesn't work out and sometimes it's not about you will be a good thing in the long run.
