Grammys 2012

I don't like Bruno Mars, at all. His voice annoys me. My sister calls me a hater, but he sucks to me. I'm not a Taylor Swift fan. She has a nice voice, but I don't always like her music.

I liked Katy Perry somewhat.
Don Cornelius was an afterthought and was only acknowledged because LL was the host and reminded them. Glad he was acknowledged, but he was not included in the memorium. And Vesta got no love and I think it's a travesty for someone who was a pretty significant R & B artist in the 80s.

Come on, WG, how can you not like his music?
:D

Grammys, in my opinion, are the only legitimate awards given out in entertainment anymore.

Academy Awards are a complete joke.

I quit being interested in the grammies when they started the heavy metal category and gave the first heavy metal grammy to....Jethro Tull.

I like Jethro Tull but giving the band the heavy metal grammy was a travesty IMO.

Since then I said screw it because it became clear that the only thing the grammies have a clue about is radio friendly music and have no clue about other stuff.

Yea, but then they try giving an award to a band like Arcade Fire and everyone is upset. You can't win with music awards because tastes diverge so much.

I'm a big movie buff and I feel that movies (and TV dramas) are much better captured in terms of rating artistic merit than any other medium. And as such I think the Oscars are petty damn good, compared to other award shows.

Can't wait until Kreayshawn is on the Grammys, then they will wish that Minaj was still performing on there, lol. Just goes to show how empty of meaning these awards shows are. P.S. don't search Kreayshawn it will drive you insane to think how she just signed to Columbia records.

You don't often hear "radio friendly music" and "Jethro Tull" in the same statement.

I get the Tull thing but I am biased being a huge Tull fan. They were certainly among the forefathers of HM.

And how! That was pretty much the first and last Grammy show I ever watched. Jethro Tull had ZERO business winning that Grammy.

The Grammy was for Hard Rock / Heavy Metal so while Tull should have been eligible for it, Crest of a Knave isn't half the album ...And Justice For All was.

Entertainment Weekly named that Grammy one of the 10 biggest upsets in Grammy history. ...and Justice for All was also ranked 12th on the greatest guitar albums of all time and IGN has it ranked as the #9 of greatest Heavy Metal albums of all time.

Giving that Grammy to Juthro Tull was a travesty.

Tull got that award not for Crest of a Knave but for thier body of work and the general lack of attention they got before hitting the mainstream with Aqualung.

Go back and give This Was, Stand Up and Benefit a listen. Heavy Metal before heavy metal existed.

Ranking music/musicians is a fools game. I've never bought music because it has "grammy award winning" or "ranked xth best by..." on the label.

Anyone notice that Lady Gaga didn't win a thing this year? Is it time to say bye-bye to Gaga? I heard that after she didn't win Album of the Year, she got up and walked out. What a poor sport!

Hey, these stars aren't always gracious losers. They wanna win. lol

Bruno Mars stomped his feet after losing to Adele in one category.

My friend said he was doing a holy dance. Mmm, hmm.
