Stop with the penalties! That game woulda been over a lot sooner if our line was more disciplined..However, I am happy as heck right now! Go 'Boys!:star:

I didn't have a problem with the refs tonight with the exception of the Hamlin hit out of bounds and the late hit call two plays later, but they really were calling a tight game tonight. A lot of those calls on both sides might have been overlooked by another crew of officials.

Dude...we have been committing penalties left and right with every officiating crew in the league. It's not the refs...it's us. We need to fix it right away or it could cost us big time.

I agree Idgit.

Thought the refs were good tonight. I don't know if Hamlin was flagged for his hit, I honestly thought it was for what he most likely said.

The penalties were offsetting weren't they? I'd assume that Maclin received the late hit and Hamlin was given unsportsman-like conduct.

The late hit was tacky but after a previous altercation it looked a little slimey for him to run in there and a hit him even a little late. I would have liked to see it get passed over but it wasn't. I think any other player gets the benefit of the doubt but Hamlin was just in a tussle so he was flagged.

Hoculi's crew loves throwing flags. This game was no different. The call on Witten was really bad. The dude was backing up as Witten got close. Bigg's holding call was bad, more of a manhandling than anything. Point is, Ed loves the TV time and he got it on both teams, 228 penalty yards.

Hercules's is a flag-happy crew. We commit a lot of penalties, but they were at a premium tonight. Not saying we don't need to tighten that up, just that the problem was magnified.

That second late hit was definitely the officials making the point that the game wasn't going to get out of line. It still sucks, though, since Maclin gave Hamlin the obvious shiv out of bounds and all Ken was doing was taking exception to it. On the second flag, he came in right at the end of the play, and it wasn't a particularly malicious finish to the play.

alot sooner? halfway into the 2nd quarter isnt good enough? i guess some people are just never satisfied. this post is clear to me that some people could probably win 300 million in the lottery and be mad that 150 of it goes to taxes. forgetting that they still have 150 million and all it costed them was a dollar

Personally from seeing it live I felt that this particular crew was WAY TO flag happy. They were flagging stuff that was just stupid at times.

I loved how they conviently forgot how to throw the flags on anyone of about 20 plays where the Eagles offensive line was blatantly holding. THere were several plays where they just flat out tackled our defenders cause they couldn't block them otherwise.

Are you daft? I clearly expressed my satisfaction with how we played.

I agree with the OP. It didn't cost us the game tonight, but damn. We could roll through anybody with ease if we can keep from beating ourselves. The score could have been a lot higher than it was. Not saying that I am not deliriously happy with our win, and I'm not greedy...just, we're going to face some very tough opponents on our way to the SB and their penchant for breaking the rules could make all the difference going forward. STOP WITH THE PENALTIES!

Nah, this is just a case of forward thinking. Penalties weren't an issue for us tonight since we overcame them, but it's one of the few areas we're showing a deficiency in. Moving forward, it's one of our few weaknesses. And it's a self-inflicting thing we can, theoretically, overcome.

The Cowboys offense continues to show some of the shoot-itself-in-the-foot errors that were more common earlier in the year.

I used the think that the Cowboys couldn't win a championship while comitting those kinds of errors.

But then the defense came alive. And as long as the defense plays at its high level, the team can win despite those false-start, motion, delay of game penalties (as maddening as these penalties are).

on that over turned interception, Austin was clearly held but no flag. And has been mentioned the Eagles were tackling guys and not getting called for holding. Even with this flag happy crew.

This was a record for penalties for a postseason game. They gotta let em play a little bit although alot were legit. The calls against Witten were phantom.

What do you want the coaches to tell them to do? Some of this stuff is beyond ridiculous with the calls. Then our OL watches film of the other teams OL's raping Ware, Spencer and Ratliff and never see a flag thrown.

These last two games have been utter garbage with these two officiating crews.

Really?

Philly 14, Philly 11, Washington 4, New Orleans 6, San Diego 6, NYG 5, Oakland 6

Before these last two debacles with these inept crews, we'd been averaging around 6 penalties a game for the season. We got flagged 25 times in 6 days.

Thats pathetic officiating.

The penalties in that game were on the refs - they lit up both us and the Eagles with the yellow hankies.

That being said, its really a good problem to have when you are able to shred an opponent for 34 points despite basically wearing yellow flags the whole game.
