1) Why in the world not use the Shotgun with Drew?

San Diego has a good defense, and using the Shotgun means there are less guys on the line to block the pass rush. The idea is to protect Drew, not set him up for disaster. BP may try shotgun in a future game, but I think he wasn't 100% convinced that the O line would protect Drew in the shotgun...just to much of a risk for such a close/big game.



2) How on God's Green earth was McCardell so Wide open all day? HOW? There was no Gates to worry about.

Keith Davis bit on the playaction and then collided with another defender on that TD play. This is his first real game, I don't expect him to be the second coming of Darren Woodson right now....give the DB's time to jell. The Chargers WR's are not scrubbs BTW.

3) Did Roy Williams really do enough or did he just have some flash shots for the camera?

I think his main task for today was to contain LT on the inside, which is pretty much what happened. It is the outside that had a few problems, but holding the leagues best RB to 72 yards is an accomplishment.

4) How does Greg Ellis let Drew Brees push him outside...I despise Greg Ellis...what a soft - overrated overpaid stiff.

I didn't see/don't remember that play so I can't comment.

5) How long till T New is moved to the Nickle and Glenn takes his job.

Newman will get his, trust me. With the way Henry played today, Newman will get plenty opportunities to make big plays. You will see...

6) We need a KR big time

I have to agree with that, but I believe we will have the answer soon, and he may already be on the roster.

Great win people....I am ecstatic...ecstatic!!

BUT

I have some questions that need solutions:

Otherwise I'm happy...

1. I think they felt he could be more effective under the center with play action.
2. Focussing on LT I think.
3. He played strong in the box. I think he is still covering for Davis.
4. I missed it, but was he "off balance"?
5. I hope not or else we are in trouble for the future. Towards the end of last year he was "on" again.
6. We need a real gunner!
