Way to lay off the temptation and make a stance that it was just too expensive. To brighter days ahead. Nowadays you shouldn't be handing out second contracts for big money unless that player is a top 3-5 player at his position without taking into account of the system they are in. Only a select few rbs in the league deserve big money and DeMarco (while a great season and a great person and teammate) was not one of them. I thank you DeMarco for a great year and I thank you Jerry for not caving.

PS As I say the above now watch and see the horrible trade and contract extension we will make and give AP

I'd like to give AP a 1 year prove it deal (because he has been off for a year) and draft a RB at 27...

Problem is the 1 yr prove it deal will cost us at least a 2nd or 3rd rounder and he won't except a trade that will turn his contract into a 1 yr deal. Time to move on from this thought of AP the great.

Adrian Peterson isn't playing for any "prove it" deals.
We are talking about The most dangerous running back in the last 15 years.
He would tell you where to stick your "prove it" deal and you would listen.

Now Ray Rice would take a prove it deal.....and I want nothing to do with him.

I'll say great job when we have something to show for this decision. Right now we've lost Murray, Melton, Durant, Carter, and Parnell. We've signed a fullback and backup linebacker.

Granted, this market is overinflated, but if we remain on the sideline much longer, we will be fighting for table scraps.

We were so close this year. Now, I feel we are further away than ever.

I hope this plan pans out.

This was the right move. Shame though to lose Murray. If you read some of the posts in some of these threads, I'm amazed at how everyone is predicting doom and gloom for the Eagles as a result of this signing. Short term I think it could hurt us. Especially if we don't shore up the defensive line. Long term it will likely hurt the Eagles. Especially if the contract looks like what we think it will.

The Colts just gave a 1st for TRich and cut him today....................just joking

Honestly, I know I'm about to get blasted here, but what would be the harm in taking a flyer on TRichardson. No draft picks involved and if he clears wavers give him a "prove it' contract. Like the vet minimum with incentives. I say kick the tires on this one but no more than the vet minimum or something close to it. Also do a psychological on him. He may be a nutcase

Lets not get crazy calling Murray a good person. He just voluntarily went to Philly.
he still... might be a good person. remember he is young and that part of the brain is not fully developed at that point. Talk to him 5 years from now. That's the conversation i want to be a fly on the wall at.

There is no harm in bringing him in once he clears waivers for the minimum. Indy still owes him 3m guaranteed.

Couldn't agree more. If you aren't improving your are getting worse.
