They should get D-Law back this week.

The trade deadline will be over soon. Hopefully, this stops all of the ridiculous "let's make a trade to get another team's starter for a 2020 conditional 7th round pick" or "let's trade away a premium draft pick for a player that will be a free agent after the season and will require a huge contract".

Broaddus implied Wilber will step into the lineup as the starter over Hitchens.

D-Law will take Durant's roster spot.

Personally, I'm more excited that Free is returning too..

Lber does concern me, but I think in the long run, as in not just this year, we just fill it with a guy that can play WLB. Do not move Carter because that introduces other headaches.

Besides that one Stunt Parnell seemed to have played a pretty good game all things considering. I am sure X will let us know but it seemed the OL in RB was good, pass blocking was hard to guage based on all the audibles and such. Parnell has shown me something that makes think Free is expendable in the offseason.

This only makes sense if Carter is moving back to Will. Wilber at Will (say that 10 times fast) would be a complete disaster.

X you're not concerned about the linebackers now?

Somewhat, but it would be very rare for a team to give the Cowboys a starter for a late round draft pick. Somebody might trade them a mediocre backup LB, but I don't see that really helping.

Carter was out. Now Durant is out but Carter is back. Wilber and Hitchens have played some significant snaps this season and were "good enough". Also, the Cowboys play Nickel more than 50% of the snaps for the season which only has 2 LBs on the field.

Parnell played really well. There were a couple of times that he had to choose between 2 rushers, but I think he blocked the correct ones. I think he won all of the 1-on-1 pass rush battles. His run blocking was again really good. He often drives one defender into another taking them both out. He was better this week with the details like finding the 2nd level blocks and getting the reach blocks in the zone stretch. There were some plays with him and Martin run blocking to the right where they were knocking down defenders like bowling pins. The guy that he is blocking tends to end up on the ground often. It's really fun to watch.

Yes, Wilber has only played SLB. They never play him at WLB.

Of course. You always are when you have injuries.

But you drafted Hitches for this very reason. To step in and play when they need him.

It's stupid to give away picks, that this team is going to absolutely need, to try and get some player off another team at this point.

If we were 1 LBer away from being a certain Superbowl contender then you make that trade. But we're not so you don't.

You speak the truth, sir.

I thought Parnell did a good job. I just think they sent more rushers than we had blockers on some plays.

yup...agree

And I think that is what happened last night. They moved Carter to WLB...and we immediately got exposed in coverage by Niles Paul.

I'd like to see us make a deal for someone that you can platoon w/ Hitchens.

Hitchen on run downs...someone that can help in coverage.

Parnell wasn't bad, was he?

I don't think Parnell is bad. I think he and Free and what and what as far as ability. One might do something better in one area while the other does something better in the other.

I think Free's vet experience gives him the edge, even if he's not the most talented.

Broaddus just posted his initial take on Parnell, it will be interesting to see what the coaches say after film review -

The final game numbers say that Kerrigan had a solid day on the defensive side of the ball for the Commanders. From my seat in the press box, it appeared that the one sack he had was off a twist stunt where Zack Martin and Jermey Parnell were trying to pass it and Martin came off too late to adjust. I know there were several snaps where Parnell was matched up with Kerrigan one-on-one and was able to handle him with a fair amount of success. Where I believe that Kerrigan had his success – and I will check this on Tuesday – was in the running game with some down-the-line plays going to the right where Parnell just couldn’t make the cut-off block as consistently as he needed to. Where I had my concerns about Parnell in this game was with Kerrigan and his pass rush, but it appears that he was able to hang in there.
