Great win but 1 stat can't continue

Y'all should know not to listen to Jerry. It doesn't really matter what he says but my biggest takeaway is. This offense needs to run through CD lamb early and often last week trying to get Pickens involved early I think is a mistake. I think you got to get lamb involved early as he's more apt to catch the ball and then involve Pickens as complimentary and then I don't know what they got to do to get the run game going but they got to figure that out.

Lame excuse for having zero running game. They ran the ball well last year when Bass had to start.

Initially, I felt Bass would do a great job until Smith returned. Not meant as an excuse, but the critical run block eye test Bass has created little to no real push on running plays. I have read Smith is our strongest run blocker. What do you believe is the issue with the ground game?

All Pro G Tyler Smith injury is hurting the OL much more than we expected.

Yep. Bass has been adequate to good but an all pro is an all pro. We need Tyler back ASAP. Our run game will improve when Tyler is back.

I’m still concerned about our defense. But Dak and the offense blew up and that covered the warts of the defense. So happy with the win and somewhat saving the season but we need to work on that defense. The run game will improve when our best offensive linemen comes back IMHO.

But we won and I’m happy. Much better mood this week than last. I’m going to enjoy the win.

What’s just driving me insane for the 3rd year now are the rushing totals they allow teams to just donkey stomp them. I think it was 187 today. That cannot happen but yet it keeps happening and this front office literally has no idea what to do

It's funny how the opinion on schedule difficulty can change after just a few weeks. The next three games just don't seem as daunting.

The Ravens lost a home game to the Saints,

Both the Bucs and the Texans are 0-2.

This was supposed to be where the difficulty began but the combined record of our next three opponents is 1-5.

As for our defense, this is a group of players who mostly never played with each other until last week. This was a complete overhaul, and I really can't recall a team with so much change on one side becoming immediately successful.

The expectation has been gradual improvement with the defense playing their best football in December and January.

However, this expectation may have to be tempered considering the number of injuries to defensive starters. It will be difficult for the defense to come together if half of them is watching the game instead of participating.

An NFC win is a great win despite the troubles on defense and no run game until late in the game. The Cowboys were out gained on the ground 182-66. Tyler Smith please come back soon.

The passing offense was elite. WR’s were catching everything and Dak was on fire despite the lack of run game.

Also, something happened at half time. Not sure if it was the coaches or the leaders on the team but someone got them to come out strong in the 2nd half. The defense actually got some stops and you could see the intensity had picked up. That’s a good sign and will help the defense start to smell some confidence.

OL had a good night apart from Steele. Problem was Schotty not calling rushing plays. When he did choose to run it some late in the game, the blocking was good enough.

Can’t establish the run if the play-caller wants to just constantly pass.

Unpopular opinion they showed signs. I saw us come at the QB fast but took many bad angles. I saw so many run right past the QB. That might just be learning the speed of the game and our rush will be much better with proper angles.

Honestly throw the records out, this is still a tough stretch of football. If the cowboys end up going 2-1 you won’t see me saying “yeah well, they were easier games”.

Baltimore lost to what’s probably a very underrated New Orleans team. They should be well motivated for this week.

Houston had two tough games in a row and will be getting Nico Collin’s back.

Tampa….well this could be legitimately the one team that isn’t as good as expected but I still don’t view them as a pushover. They have really good players on both sides of the football.

Going into the GB game if the cowboys are over 500 I’ll be a believer of this teams chances.

I don't see a real commitment to establishing a run game. Probably because Jerry has so much money tied up in his QB and WRs. Can't have the GOTI if you're just handing off the ball 25-30 times a game.
