Yeah it was against a backup QB but it was a division rivalry game. Not to mention it was against a team that sat atop the division and who knew that their season was likely on the line now that they had lost their starter. They gave everything they had and we still got the W.

The good: This defense is for real and now generating turnovers. Watch out. 2nd Half Dak was $: decisive, on target, on time. Hope we continue to see this version of him from here out. Zeke redeemed himself from the first poor showing in WAS. Amari Cooper (I will eat my crow on him) has opened up this offense.

The bad: First half Dak was not $. He was Quincy Carter-esque. Skipping/missing passes. Terrible footwork and throwing mechanics. More 2nd half Dak, less first half please. We need a TE or a coach that can develop one cuz ours are lucky to be on a roster.

The ugly: No ugly today. Still don't trust Garrett as far as I can throw him but for now I will give him credit for pulling himself out of the fire. Still hope he is gone if we don't make a deep run in the playoffs this year.

You have to give the staff some credit simply from a half time adjustment point of view.
If you can point out what adjustments they made I will give them credit. Honestly I didn't get to watch as closely yesterday due to a house full of people.

Something changed in our pass pro. Can’t say specifically what but first half the ‘Skins were all over Dak. Second half he had time to make plays. This is probably what accounts for the difference you indentified in his play from one half to the next.

1st half we were more conservative, blitzed less, and the pass protection broke down.
2nd half that all improved.

Didn't see any adjustments after halftime , i saw dak scramble and get people off of him to make passes .

great effort . worthless coaching .

The uneccesary and immature re-jumping in the kettle by the 2 mental midgets on the team which indirectly led to negating that TD and changing momentum was the only low point for me. Teams with immaturity and unsteadiness at the Qb position will never reach the promised land.

This would never happen with Rodgers, Breeze , Brady etc. they don’t let immature grandstanding cost their teams

I mentioned last night (somewhere) that Dak seems to have developed enough confidence in Cooper to actually throw the ball before he makes his break, at times. That was really nice to see, and it's the first time I can recall seeing him do that, instead of waiting for his receiver to get wide open. That throw into triple coverage wasn't a good idea, but he made a very good throw, and somehow Amari took it 90 yards. Awesome to have a receiver who can do that! Anyone still complaining about that 1st round pick they spent can sit down now.

So sounds more like they just executed better or just passed the eyeball test better in the second half. I still don't know if that equates to coaching adjustments as much as it does to better player performance.

Somewhat I'm sure but there were several throws that first half where Dak had plenty of time to throw but his footwork and mechanics got him over balanced on the throws and he sailed it or skipped it.

Well of course they executed! Lol, that's really not the discussion. It's possible that they're both important to be productive.

Listen, I am not defending JG. But fans are too quick to throw him under the bus when we aren't productive. Player execution is never a factor. Until the players execute, then it's not situational play calling and scheme adjustments, it's the players executing.

I missed the first half as a holiday casualty. But in the second half I saw the 2016 version of Dak Prescott asserting himself.

I hope the Dak haters will remember that this guy just turned 25 last July and is still learning how to effectively play the most difficult position in sports. For sure he doesn’t have a great arm or Troy Aikman’s accuracy. But that guy makes plays, is tough as a boot, and doesn’t turn the ball over very often. I realize he’ll never be Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees but many a playoff game has been won by guys with lesser talent than Dak.

Cause and effect. Prescott needs more experience and can improve. Pressure gets him. Other than that and when they protected better he looked polished.

I think it might just be the opposite of that.

I think that Dak's decisiveness is what allowed the line to do a better job of protecting him, as I feel his indecisiveness and lack of anticipation and timing has greatly contributed to the number of sacks he's taken.

When he makes quick decisions and gets the ball out on time, the pass protection looks much better.

I get it I'm just wondering what the specific things were that can be pointed out as an actual adjustment. I think sometimes people are quick to cite adjustments as the reason a team is better or worse in the second half when really the players either just played better or didn't.

He needs better coaching. Still has a ton to learn about footwork. And he needs to learn to get the ball out much quicker. (Drives me crazy) But this guy is athletic enough to learn a lot more than he currently has in his toolbox.

When Jared Goff was drafted, although he has a better arm than Dak, his footwork was awful, even by his own admission. When Sean McVey became the coach of the rams, he worked hard on doing two things with Goff- 1. Improving his footwork and delivery and 2. Designed the offense to take advantage of Goff’s strengths.

Garrett has made some adjustments with Dak in the offense but the Jason Garrett offense is still antiquated by today’s NFL standards. And having Kellen Moore be his QB Coach is laughable.

Dak TD run was excellent!! Believe that was his best play, if he can work on his footwork and have better pocket awareness he has s chance to be real good. Linehan doesn’t help him at all man. Against the saints we should be rolling him out a lot keep him on the move!

Every facet of their game better be on point if they're going to have a shot at beating the Saints. That team is dialed in. Kamara and Ingram and Thomas with Brees at the helm present a nightmare for any defense.

Game I can see us losing 38-35 even if everything goes right for our offense. Gotta slow it down when we have the ball and go for methodical drives for 14 plays and 75 yards that end in touchdowns. Gotta figure out a way to get to Brees and force a turn-over or two.

That was nice to see him throw that pass and hit him dead on. Finally. It won't always work, but good QBs make a career on those pass plays.

I'm not concerned about the draft pick now. I just consider it our first pick that I no longer have to worry about. As far as Cooper dropping passes, he's not doing a lot of that lately.

I still give the D most of the credit for the wins. Dallas is keeping teams in the 20 point range.
