I am sure I am going to miss a name or two, but I'm going to do my best to make this poll comprehensive. I think this can be a pretty interesting discussion.

Mid 2015, anyone who said Romo would be trolled, but history has also proven he was underrated while he played. His time in the booth has proven without a doubt he is one of the greatest football minds on the planet, and that surely has boosted his reputation, beyond just the Dallas fanbase.

Personally, Jason Witten is the guy in my book. Arguably the #1 of all-time at his position, without question top 3, Cowboy from draft day to retirement, culture carrier, honorable man on and off the field.

For me, it's a toss up between Romo, Witten, and DWare. All 3 were terrific players for us. I have to go with Romo first though, followed by Witten.

If this post was made in 2020, D. Law, Zack Martin, Tyron Smith, and T. Fred would all be possible additions to the contenders.

Well, for me, I didn't get to see much of LA, and I feel like he's more in the 90s category than he is the 2000s category. I nearly went Witten, but ultimately went with Romo. I could've gone either way with Romo and Witten.

LA made as many pro bowls in 00s as he did the 90s.

Adding him was a toss-up because of the split in his career, buy playing through 2007, after being drafted in '94 made adding him a no brainer.

Sadly he spent his last two years with the niners. To me, I place a big premium on Cowboys lifers. Sean Lee looks like the next guy to fall into that bucket (or Dez if he doesn't get back into the league)

I can see the argument for Romo because of the position he played, but while I believe he belongs among the elite quarterbacks, there's no doubt that Larry Allen, Jason Witten and DeMarcus Ware are among the best all-time at their positions.

So that would be my order:

Allen
Witten
Ware
Romo

I think the rest are a notch or two below. Elliott could get there in time if he keeps up the pace. Lee would belong is not for his injury issues.

I don't think injuries lock Lee out of consideration entirely, particularly if he retires a Cowboy.

In a few years - Tyron, Martin, Fred, all are candidates, if we get a Lombardi or he improves greatly, Dak is as well. If they keep up their current playing levels, so are D. Law and B. Jones.

Definitely Tony Romo.

Wish they came out with a jersey commemorating his numbers and accomplishments like they did Witten. Thought that was pretty cool and would get one for Romo
