lassic Practical Joke Gets Student Suspended
We love a practical joke as much as anyone, and have to admit that there's nothing like seeing one pulled off to perfection. Hilliard Davidson High School (Ohio) officials didn't quite see the humor (at least publicly), though, in a classic stunt pulled off by senior Kyle Garchar at the expense of fans from cross-town rival Hilliard Darby High School. When unsuspecting Darby fans arrived at Crew Stadium Friday night, as reported by the Columbus Dispatch, they found placards distributed in three sections that they thought were to be used by the crowd to spell out "Go Darby" at the beginning of the game's second half. Little did they know those placards they thought had been designed to cheer on their team had been planted by Garchar. When the crowd in sections 125 through 127 stood to open the second half, they unknowingly spelled out "We Suck", much to the delight of the rival crowd sitting just across the field.
It was an ingenious setup, but it cost Garchar a three-day in-school suspension and he also has been banned from participating in any school activities for a semester. But if his goal was to provide an unforgettable moment in school history, he was wildly successful. And the fact that it was caught on tape and posted to YouTube will assure Garchar of legendary status at his high school for years and years to come.
We can hardly wait to see how Darby gets even!
