Who is the Greatest Left-Handed Quarterback in NFL history?
I'd say Steve Young, but I've recently been told no, that it's actually Kenny Stabler. Well, I think "Niner" or not, he was great. I stick by Young as The Greatest Lefty to play the quarterback position.

I'd say it's Steve Young, but I've been told recently that no, it was actually Kenny Stabler. I still think "Niner" or not, Young was a great quarterback, not that Stabler wasn't, I just think Young was a Better left-handed quarterback than he was.

I'd probably go with Dan Fouts but Young is a good one too. Stabler was a pretty dang good QB thou. If you put Young in the same era as Stabler, no way he makes the HOF IMO. There is a reason the WCO didn't really resurface until the 80s. Rules changes allowed for that offense to be run. In the old days, the game was too physical to run that offense. Too easy to bump WRs off there routes. WCO is predicated on multiple receiving threats running short to intermediate routes very precisely. In the old days, you couldn't do that cause the DBs and LBs would knock the crap out of you. That's why timing offenses were not widely used either.

Fouts was a righty...

Young and Stabler would have to be at the top, and you can make an argument for Esiason belonging in their class. Put Brunell in the second tier...

Those are the three I would choose. Boomer did not have as much talent around him as Steve or Kenny, but he still did well.

Young is the only one in the HOF and the only lefty worthy so far.

Heck with it. I'm going with the Babe. Lou Gehrig, Ted Williams and Jimi Hendrix are all close seconds.

When I saw the thread title I thought he meant left handed pitchers. I never heard of qbs being referred as lefties only pitchers.
