They have the third best record....doesn't mean they are the third best team.

I think Seattle, Tampa Bay, and Arizona are better.

Does that mean we still haven't really beaten a good team? Just wondering.

Uh........we're talking about the Lions.

Uh...reread his post. He was referring to the Giants as the third best team. It was the Giants that you said were "over-rated". Seems you've lost the thread, as it were.

NY is a good team....I just don't think they are the third best NFC team.

We only played one "really good team." Wonder no more.

Ummm, the Lions stink pretty bad. They play like 10 receivers and can't seem to ever get into the endzone. Kitna is the master of the 300 yard game literred with picks and mistakes.

The Lions' offense is flawed. They don't have a credible rushing game and the pass-happy Martz lets Kitna get hit way too much.

The Lions defense is inconsistent, but can be opportunistic.

Anything can happen, but the Packers should roll.

In the grand scheme of things, this Thursdays game for both Green Bay and DAllas are insignificant. If one team loses and the other team wins, it won't affect the real standing that happens teh next Thursday when both teams meat. Green Bay can lose Thanksgiving, Dallas can win and if Green Bay wins the next Thursday, Green Bay is the no 1 seed. And vice-versa.

It is funny to see a lot you guys dismiss the Packers so easily. The Packers are a very good team and are as surely better than the Tampas, Seattles, and Giants who they already beat. When they play the Cowboys, I think it will be an old fashioned shoot-out. Scoring for both teams will be in teh high 30s to 40s and probably close to 900 yards betwteen them. It should be a fun game.

As an aside, Brett is playing better today than when he won MVPs in the 90s. His decision making has been better, his accuracy is better but also he has a better group of Wrs than he has ever had.

They do have a tough game Thursday, but even if they do lose, it won't matter because the game against Dallas holds all the cards....

Detroit is hungry after a loss and has to win against a divisional opponent at home.We must beat the jets.I think GB loses this thursday.
Don't forget they are on a short week and playing on the road. They then have to play on the road again against us. If GB drops this game to Detroit, it makes the game the following week even bigger. Because if Dallas goes to 11-1 and Green Bay 9-3, with Dallas having the tie-breaker, you can shut out the lights because the #1 seed is a lock.

Favre is not playing appreciably better than he did from 94-97.

These are his 2007 stats extrapolated over 16 games.
4,411 yards 26 tds 13 Ints 96.2

1995: 4,413 yards 38 tds 13 ints 99.5
1996 3,899 39 tds 13 ints 95.8

At best you could say he's playing at a similar level but he's certainly not better. He threw more touchdown passes when he was younger.

But I tell you what, Favre is playing with a heck of a lot of confidence right now. And he's playing well.

We need to get Henry healthy for this game, and we need to put in a good defensive gameplan.

windward, I have watched every game FAvre has ever played since he became a Packer. I have never missed a game. Believe me he is playing better. Stats don't tell it all. He played 94-97 on pure talent, making plays out of nothing. You don't see that as much anymore. He is involved in the game planning with McCarthy. In Favres early years, he rarely studied and nothing like he does now. His QB rating is better this year especially the past six games than at any other point in his career. His TD passes are down from those years but ask any Packer fan and they will tell you he is playing better than those years. He looks at a defense and knows immediately what play should work best for the team and puts the team in a position to make that play. IN the early years, he just ran the play and more times than not succeeded. If not for Brady he would be the top selection for MVP. That tells you just part of how well he is playing. And he doesnt have a TO, Whitten, Moss, to throw to like ROmo and Brady.

He is not playing a little bit better than those years, he is playing signficantly better.

Well, I'll take your word for it, then. It will certainly be interesting to see how well he plays against Dallas in 2 weeks.

at least they won't have to play the game on that concrete field like they did in the 90s.

It should be a great game. I wonder what that point spread will be. I would say Dallas favored by 3.5 pts..

The two best games this year will be Dallas-Green Bay in the Championship game and NE-Indy in the Championship game. I just hope Green Bay-Dallas is in Lambeau......ICEBOWl 11. Would that be awesome......

We'll see Romo play against his boyhood idol. It will be an exciting game for Romo to play against the QB he liked most growing up in WI.

If we play GB in championship i kinda hope it is in GB,for many reasons,1.dallas is better on road2.GB has a crap running game and if its cold it will affect them more3.on our turf they can spread 3 wide all the time and pass pass pass

IF Green Bay loses and Dallas wins, we better play lights out because the Pack will know that a loss to Dallas will extinguish the flames of homefield through out.

That being said Dallas just needs to get to 10-1 and then prepare for 11-1.

Why the heck do we play better on the road? We just seem to execute better all around.

I think that Green Bay is going to scrap their running game against Dallas anyway. I would not be surpirsed to see Favre throw it 50 times on the 29th. They have been going to a 5 WR package lately. They may run that formation 25 times against Dallas. Can't wait!! Wish it was this week but not this Thursday.....

Next year you guys get to come to Lambeau tho so we will get to do this all over again.

I do think it's better for the league when Dallas and Green Bay are at the top of the league.

Didn't Jets (then 1-8) beat Steelers (then 7-2) yesterday?

Yeah, it isn't out of question that Lions upsetting Packers.

We had better be focused on Jets, we don't want to be another Steelers.
