So..

After Sundays games 2 things became clearer..

1) We are greatly improved since our loss to them in the 2014 playoffs

2) They are less than they were since that same game.

Does that give us the edge?

I'm excited about this matchup.

The Packers are going down.

If DAK wins this..Romo will not play again until December.

The Legends of DAK and Zeke are about to begin with this game.

The Packers are a perennial SB favorite like the Pats.

Beat them and we are way out there.

Your thoughts?

Kill me for saying this but this but the receiving corp without Dez looks pretty opportunistic. TWill stepped up and it looks like Dak keeps EVERYONE involved. There is no more. "You have to get this guy or that guy involved early" to have a good offensive day. Kind of interesting the way this team has evolved without it's playmakers.

This is a very different Packer team than 2014.

They aren't anywhere in the same neighborhood in terms of offensive explosiveness. Their offense is pretty average.

Where the Packers are very good, so far, and somewhat surprisingly is in the trenches. I believe PFF has their OL as the #1 pass blocking OL in the NFL. Rodgers seems to have all day -- which is crazy considering he is under a 60% completion rate. Their front 7 on defense seems very good against the run and they have a pretty good pash rush.

Where they have been week is at CB on defense and their WRs haven't been been able to get open for roughly a year now.

The Cowboys power running game will travel well to Lambeau. How they do against the Packers pretty good front-7 should tell us a lot about how far this team can go this season.

Great point and I agree 100%.

I was talking about the new team dynamics with my Son last weekend.

It is interesting but more importantly it's exciting as hell.

GB hasn't impressed this season. They're still a formidable opponent in the NFC and this game will have a playoff feel to it.

The way the teams have played so far, I'd rank Green Bay and our other opponents:

1--Green Bay
----
2--Washington (or 3)
3--New York (or 2)
4--Cincinnati
5--Chicago (or 6)
6--San Francisco (or 5)

the packers have some warts, but I'd still say they're the best Dallas will have played so far. Especially at Lambeau

I'm surprised to see us fairly-big road dogs in this one early. I bet that number changes as the week goes on, though. Especially if Dez is back this week.

We have a lot of momentum going into this game and I suspect Dez will be on the field for this one :)

GB is beat up in the secondary, and looked like Randall Cobb got hurt late last night with a head/neck injury (don't know the severity). I like us in this game. Feels like the Seattle game in 2014 to me. I love the physical way that we are destroying people in the ground game. Watching Cincy's D get blasted after they talked smack about our OL was satisfying.

That said-- Rodgers is an elite QB and our pass rush is still our achilles heel. He is by far the best passer we have faced thus far, and I think he could have his way with our secondary. We need to punish them in the ground game, own the TOP, protect the football, and keep it close in the 4th quarter.

Just playing the Devil's advocate, but maybe they were not soo great playmakers to begin with.

It's great to drink in the morning!

Just kidding. If Cowboys win at GB, that is the game Jerry finally believes that Romo stays on bench.

It is, bro.

A little hair of the dog is fine after a win.

Yes, if the DAK Attack shows up and we win..

it will be near impossible to bench him for Romo. Jerrah would be throwing us all under the bus if he did that.

Not so sure about that Achilles Heel..

We had 4 sacks against a good Cincy OL.

We'll see.

It will be different from the last time when we got NO pressure on him.

You can even see it in the bounce in their step. Even on special teams when a teammate goes down on the carpet, there's 5 other teammates there to literally pick him up off the ground. It's apparently infectious how TEAM oriented they are becoming. Somewhere, they took all the "me" stats out of their game and made it more about the teams successes. Although the key players are young they seem to be understanding and thriving on their overall dependence on each other and loving it!!

Right on. Thats how teams win...The Johnson and Landry clubs were very much like that.

Its insane that the offense looks this good without Romo and Dez but I cant explain why.

I am tired of hearing about the packers. Honestly, they are not the top nfc team of the decade, they are no super bowl team like the narrative says. That is Seattle. GB is just another good team in the nfc with a great qb.

There defense was flying around last night but I guess when you play a team that is one handed and behind you can play like that.

It should be a good matchup.

They are less than what they were, but I don't think we're greatly improved from that 2014 playoff team. We're pretty similar to what we were then.
