Going on a week now since we beat the Packers and up here in Green Bay thay just can't seem to let it go. The big rally cry has been that the better team did not win and that the rematch in the play-offs will result in a Cowboys beat down by a healthy Packer team. Nothing is immune....the NFL network, the refs, Jerry Jones, Texas Stadium...Packer fans and radio guys can't find enough bad things to say about the Cowboys. Total sour grapes.

There was an article in the paper two days ago about a Packer fan that was at the game and he was totally appalled that he had to wait for a cab at the stadium to get back to his hotel. Note: Green Bay has 3 cabs total so I'm sure the wait is the same up here.

Packer fans are usually pretty bitter about a loss, but this one is really bugging the crap out of them. You would never know that they have a game against Oakland this week. It's all Cowboys all the time.

and apparantly.....the so called blown call on the Harris int in the first quarter is the sole reason the Cowboys won. Never mind that it was the first series for the Cowboys, that play cost the Packers the game.:banghead:

The pats were the better team then. The cowboys were still learning how to be an elite team at that time. Now the cowboys have a little bit more experience, and the Pats have shown they're human. I still would rather avoid them if we could.

Note:

the difference here is that NFL network didn't say anything like this about the Cowboys-Pats (if they did indeed say this about Cowboys-Pack), and just about everyone (including some Cowboys fans) was proclaiming that Dallas got beat by a better team.

We lost to the Patriots because they were the better team. Are they now? Maybe, maybe not. I'm sure you believe they are, but I honestly am not so sure about that.

i think "most" fans were realistic about the Cowboys' chances against NE, given the state of the secondary...i must confess that i simply hoped they would'nt get destroyed...a close loss would've been acceptable to me...i was infuriated with Stallworth's TD from a 2WR set, the Kosier penalty, the Phillips call for the FG and the Romo pick...too many mistakes in the last quarter of a football game against a team like NE...

Green bay fans, however, were utterly unfazed in their predictions of a convincing victory for the Pack...visions of the "fab 5" ripping up the feeble Dallas secondary and the Harris/Woodson combo putting a vise on the Dallas offense...what they got instead was a cold hard dose of the reality of their football team...

Even if Harris does get the INT, it's no guarantee that they would've scored because it occured at the GB 37 yard line...the 62 yarder by Grant is not something that would normally happen in that situation...a gift-wrapped seven points on third and one...the fluke INT from Owens is also something that does'nt normally happen...GBay was fortunate that this game was as close as it ended up being...THEY ARE'NT THE ONLY TEAM THAT MADE MISTAKES DURING THIS GAME...though you would'nt know it by all the excuses offered for bad play...

I imagine that GB fans feel the same way that 49er fans must have felt in 92 and 93..."how could another team possibly be better than our 14-2 squad?"...well, matchups, that's how and turnovers...both of which Dallas won on both occasions...the same happened against GB.

Green bay fans are hard core in their denial about the weaknesses of their team...no pressure up front from your NFL leading sack leader is not a good sign...shuffling/benching players on your offensive line during a game of this magnitude is not a good sign...safeties that can't cover grandma in a rocker is not a good sign...Al Harris losing all sense of awareness in the secondary is not a good sign...Owens put on a clinic and when they finally put the wraps on him, Crayton, Witten and Barber came alive...

Hopefully, by the time a potential rematch occurs, Dallas will have shored up the pass defense and returned Terry Glenn to the field...hopefully there will be no injuries to complain about and then we'll see if they can give Dallas "the business" at Texas Stadium.:starspin

A healthy Packer team means Brett Favre at QB... he went 5 for 14, with 2 ints, before leaving the last game...

Somehow, I'm not intimidated... :D

Somebody needs to tell those folks that their record is smoke and mirrors, they haven't played anybody worth a hammered crap, except the Boys... good Gawd, they even lost to DA BEARS, in their own stadium...

Mark my words. If Seattle plays Green Bay in the second round, Seattle will be Dallas' opponent in the NFC Title game.

This is the same thing they did in the early 90's when we beat them in the playoffs every time...

Nothing new here...

I seriously hope that this is the case. I would love to get Seattle again in a playoff matchup. Nothing would make me happier then to punish that team again. After last year, they road the coat tails of a very lucky break.

Revenge is a dish best served cold. I wonder how cold it gets in December in Dallas? Not cold enough for me but hey, that's fine.

The Packers better just worry about getting that #2 seed with the bye. A true fan would only worry about THAT right now.

I get the same exact feeling. Especially with a previously confident/cocky fan based that just knew they'd win.
Loved reading some of thier pregame comments and reading between the lines of thier non sensical attempts at handicapping the game. Everyone ended with a .........I just know we're gonna win, I can feel it.
Translation: I just know we're gonna win because I want us to so badly.

Doesn't really matter whether they ever come to grips with it, it's still a loss.

And if we meet again? They'll have another loss to come to grips with.

Sounds like the Giants after their losses. No asterisks for the better team losing, and only a few will remember in a year or so anyway.

Agreed...

It's been weeks since the game and folks are still lathered up over the Pats and the hope for their demise.

Oh contrare.... I root for them every week.... I want them undefeated in Feb :D

When I thought they lost Monday night(and then the realization that a timeout killed the end of game play).... I thought to myself... its meant to be... they are meant to be undefeated. Thats what I want.

Remember that the Dolphins perfect season was in jeopardy in their SB.... Yepremian tried to throw the ball after a botched kick and they ran it back for a TD. Thats what I want. The Pats to lose the only game of the season in the SB.
