Green dot on the back of the QB's helmet?

Whats with the green dot on the back of the quarterbacks helmets around the league this season?

Anyone know? Its vital to my sanity.

Probably due to the fact that it is easier to spot if it gets laid down next to other helmets. That way they know which one has the sound pack in it.

Because you can't have two players with audio on the field at the same time.

Like in Seattle where Seneca is playing wr and backup qb.

In short, it's so that say...Kordell Stewart, officially listed as a QB...can't line up as a WR and still receive the play call in his ear.

Pretend that Patrick Crayton is the Cowboys emergency QB. (i think he is) Once upon a time, he could have the mic apparatus in his helmet cos who knows...now..there's only 1 green dot allowed on the feild at any time. So Crayton better have a 2nd helmet on the sideline just in case.

Took me a while to learn about this myself.

Maybe they should just replace it with a sticker that looks like this so there aren't so many people asking questions.
