Here come the cries for Parcells and Zimmer's heads. One bad loss and they start up in mass again. I realize there is always a background chant.

Parcells 3-4 system relies heavily on the two outside LBs to provide the pass rush.

With the loss of Ellis we have had a much less effective pass rush. When that happens esp in this system you're gonna make your DBs look bad.

A lot of those LBs are young. You saw their inexperience with covering backs esp the FB and esp in the flats. Ware was so determined to get to the QB he failed in containment, run defense and the above mentioned.

We knew the loss of Ellis was going to hurt. The Saints really took advantage of it. Hang a lot of that loss on Payton's inside knowledge as well.

That's not all but it's one topic for conversation. Not saying it's that simple.

Losing Ellis wasn't as big as losing Shanle in the offseason....this kid has done nothing but shine in New Orleans. He was on the verge of greatness last season before an ankle sprain slowed him down....we dropped the ball bigtime with this one and the Saints front office must be laughing hysterically right now knowing they got away with robbery giving up only a 4th round pick for him. :lmao2:

I can understand why you feel that way and I'm not certain you're wrong. Fujita can be another example. That was Parcells decision. You're gonna have to wait for awhile before etching this in stome though. My guess is Parcells thought the guys he kept would be better in the long run; and maybe for his defense as well.

The inexperience of the younger LBs showec last night. I'll give you Fujita and Shanle would have played better.

simple as this... a big part of coaching is about getting the most out of your talent... Payton was without Horn, Colston was hurt... he basicly had Henderson and Copper!!! Now would you rather have a game plan that throws to those guys or Reggie Bush and Duece? the FB in the gameplan was just brilliant! I did not see that but then again Im not Parcells!

anyone with half a brain could have told you the Saints would use their backs in the passing game after what the Giants did!

and maybe BP should not walk out of his PC the media may have tipped him off to the fact BUSH leads the league in receptions!

I didn't think about the RBs much less the FB. Guess that's why I'm here and not coaching. I'm not sure the staff thought about it. Either that or the players totally failed part of the game plan.

Well I enjoy Parcells controlling the media and being close to a smart aleck (to be nice) but when you do that and fall you fall hard and no one gives you a break. That's the price of being on top. A lot further to fall.

I seem to recall some people saying that Ellis wasn't working over there, but I think here in the last few weeks, his abilities at LB have become VERY apparent.

This is when somebody should be stepping up and that somebody SHOULD be Carpenter

Ellis ability helped make the defense less predictable. BP's only fault was not adding any "pressure players" in the offseason. All that was there was Ellis and Ware. Ellis being hurt leaves teams to worry about Ware and Ware only.

I know DE's in the 3-4 don't generally generate sacks, but they've got to start helping to pressure the QB NOW. Heck at least collaspe the pocket and put your hands up. Canty is what.....6'7"? He hardly ever jumps up to try and knock a ball down. Thats unacceptable especially since he never gets close to the QB.

LB's have to start avoiding blocks when they blitz and get to the QB. We're like the only team in the league who's LB's (outside of Ware) just run right into people and get stopped in their tracks. Bradie James needs to make some type of play.

And where is the Roy Williams who would make plays in the box and behind the line of scrimmage? I miss him.

Roy is babysitting. Put Parrish back there and Buscuit can move up as a rover Nickel back/LB/pass rusher.

For the record, I have hated Zimmer the village idiot way before BP arrived on the scene.

Wasn't it this message board that had someone starting a thread about how overrated Greg Ellis was and how we wouldn't miss him? I don't remember where I read that in cyberspace, but whoever wrote that, if you're reading this.... these rolling eyes are for you bubba ---->

He's back there covering passes... We should let Parrish/Watkins cover Roy's spot and let Roy move up to take Ellis' place. The D can't be any worse than they were Sunday night.

Let's Go Cowboys!

I remember and you're not the only one.

Many others do the 'off with [insert your favorite scapegoat here]'s head after a loss.

So noted sir. If the shoe doesn't fit don't where it.
