Good to see Ellis get a shot at coaching. He was a solid player and consummate professional. Not sure if anyone else mentioned seeing him on Coach Lewis' staff thanks to Zimmer but I think he has a wealth of knowledge to share.

I'm glad he's doing well. But didn't he whine a lot. like the final 9 years here in Dallas?

If by professional you mean that he constantly used JJT as a mouthpiece to complain about everything from the switch to the 3-4 to his contract then I agree with you.

The guy complained endlessly.

Yeah, we were better without him then we were with him.

He did complain a lot, but he was a solid player for a long time. I mean, in a new scheme, he had 12.5 and 8 sacks in his final 2 years here.

Good, because he was starting to show up on local sports talk radio and was really really terrible.

It's funny, but every time I see Selvie I think of Ellis. While Ellis was the whiny little girl everyone is talking about, he also was a pretty good football player that did his ob on the field regardless of his actions off it. He gave effort every snap....there are a lot that could learn from him in that regard.

My comment was tongue in check. I thought Ellis was pretty darn good player for us.

Incessantly.

I have never seen a more insecure whiney football player.

But here's the thing. He did not whine incessantly. Yes he did complain at times and it was annoying, but you are missing the part where he complained ONE time, but certain writers then took that single moment in time and ran with it for months. Just because a writer uses a one time quote in multiple stories, or multiple writers use a one time quote over a period of time, it doesn't mean the Originator of the quote (Ellis) was complaining again every time his quote was used. This happened to Ellis many times over. Yes he did have a habit of saying something about being uncomfortable with his situation during the offseason, but it was incessantly repeated, not incessantly stated. There is a big difference.

This year he even said that he thought Ware wasn't a good fit as a 4-3 end on a radio show.
