Ellis to have arthroscopic knee surgery
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Monday, November 2nd, 2009 at 4:33 pm in Oakland Raiders.

News, notes and quotes Monday following open locker room and coach Tom Cable’s press briefing regarding a 24-16 loss to the San Diego Chargers.

– Starting defensive left end Greg Ellis, who has been hobbled for the past few weeks with what was described as an arthritic knee, will have arthroscopic knee surgery this week. There was no estimate how long Ellis would be out.

-----------------

Too bad for him, but it looks like Cowboys might have dodged a bullet as far as his cap hit to stay on the team.

It doesn't matter, I am glad Ellis is not here anymore. HE wasn't a bad guy, but other than TO, he grated on my nerves last year the most ( or maybe Tank Johnson and Ellis are second together on that list).

SPencer so far hasn't broken out yet, but he always seems to be really close to breaking out. Hopefully he will show up more and more as season tags along. Which is better than being good and start and bad at end, if that happens.

I'm sorry to hear that. I wasn't aware he was having any health problems. But I'm still glad he is gone. We struggled early with the pass rush but it seems to be coming around now.

It was just time for Ellis to move on, although he give us a lot of good years.

Looks like we did dodge one though.
if he stayed he would have split time so maybe the knee would get some rest.

Dear Greg,

I am very sorry for the loss of your career. Actually I am not. Dont let the door hit you where the good Lord split you.

That sucks for him, I hope he bounces back soon.
I think it's awesome for him. I'd rather sit on the bench than be a part of that sorry excuse for a football team.

Anybody see the play where the two WR ran into each other yesterday? lol :laugh2:
