I am amazed that Nick Wright has a job. What a douchebag.
Speaking of his take on Payton:
Speaking of his take on Payton:
Mixed bag imo - yes he will be better at Xs and Os but how he deals with players - or doesn't - has me concerned.
Jennings seems to be saying that MM isn't like a Garrett that will praise them, but he also doesnt seem to be a Jimmy/Bill type to get in players face...
Speaking of his take on Payton:
Well not literally getting in players face or cursing up a storm but Jimmy and Bill knew how to push buttons - players perked up and wouldn't want to be on the bad side of either one, aka players feared them. It’s definitely a fine line these days. Not all players react the same to certain kinds of coaches. Obviously being buddy buddy like JG didn’t work out well but some of the young players nowadays don’t respond well to people getting in their face.
McCarthy seems like a good balance of both but that we’ll see soon.
You are sayiong what I have been saying forever. Coaches are either blessed to have great qb play(if they do they win and look great) or cursed to have crap and they are avg Joes.I like Payton, but what's the difference in his loss at home last week and Garrett's failures? The Saints window of opportunity is closing so we're about to see how good Payton really is. Brees is like his Brady. Yes, their backup can win some games but there's going to be a huge drop off when he takes over full-time...

Pretty much. Coaching can elevate some like we saw Bill do in 2003.You are sayiong what I have been saying forever. Coaches are either blessed to have great qb play(if they do they win and look great) or cursed to have crap and they are avg Joes.
How did Saban do in the NFL? How did Jimmy do after leaving Dallas?
Tomlinson did a good job, but fans don’t realize how much talent is on their defense. Their defense kept them in every game after Fat Ben went down. They have 3 first team All Pros on their D, and very likely the defensive MVP, TJ Watt, remember him.I think the difference in a great coach is sort f like what mike tomlin did this year. To even have that team competitive was impressive.
Thats why I like mccarthy. Brings instant credibility
