Chargers linebackers coach Greg Manusky is interviewing today for the 49er's defensive coordinator's position. Want him as the DC here?

Nope. If we're bringing in a Head Coach, I would rather he bring in guys who have worked with him succesfully (Proven they can do it) as opposed to having him try to "Coach Up" Bowles as our DC, which is what I'm affraid would happen in this case.

Love to have the guy . I'd be very pleased with Garrett as the OC and Manusky as the DC . Phillips could just sit in a chair and eat Cornnuts and drink RC .

Makes me wonder how good a job Singletary is doing for the 49ers. Isn't (wasn't) he the DC for them? If they are looking at replacements, how can he still be there? If he was not the DC why isn't he being promoted? Wasn't there a rumor Campo was going to intervie for the DC job. IMHO, Singletary is not the guy we want here for HC or DC. He obviously isn't ready...

Singletary was the linebackers coach (and assistant head coach).

Billy Davis was their defensive coordinator.

It's interesting that the 49ers would name Singletary there Assistant HC and not the OC or the DC. Would seem to indicate that they do, in fact, have a certain amount of interest in him.
