Not real familiar with him, but I know he was a starter at SS for a few years in KC. They moved him to FS and I guess the results weren't all that great.

But we did lose Keith Davis and who is our backup SS right now?

Hamlin is probably the answer.

I doubt Watkins and Brown can play in the box should Roy be out for whatever reason.

Anyone know is this guy is even worth a look as a backup SS?

Hamlin is the backup SS with Pat Watkins moving in to the FS spot.

No thanks.

Every KC game is on here so I've seen his act many times.

He was once considered one of the best safeties in the league and I think the suggestion is to bring him in as a backup.

For the right price, I'd consider it, but I don't think his price will be reasonable for a guy that may only see the field on special teams.

He's not a bad player by any means, but I don't think he has a spot on this team. If Roy gets hurt Hamlin moves over, and if Hamlin gets hurt Watkins comes in, so I figure that's what we'll go into this year with again.

Didn't Parcells try to trade for him one year, but would have been to much of a cap hit for KC?

I see quite a bit of Kansas City for some reason. From what I've seen of Wesley he's not a terribly great athlete and takes a lot of chances in coverage. Not what we need.

No Offense to Roy Williams, but I believe that if Greg Wesly has average cover skills then I say bring him in. I just believe that the Cowboys needs the competition to make this whole secondary a success, diffently with Campo on board with valueable coverage schemes.

These are the case scenarios im looking for now::

> Move Henry to Free Safety and change Courtney Brown into a conerback. This allows Hamlin to be in the strong safety position. Meaning Mike Jenkins start in Henry's spot.

Pros :: Henry has good ball skill when the ball is thrown in the air, I believe that the Cowboys would have alot more of interceptions at that position

Cons :: Not starting might become a problem for Roy, Ken, or Henry.

or...

Sign Greg Wesly or good cover safety to back up Roy Williams.

Pros :: It gives Roy a bit more of a fire to beat out competition, it adds veteren depth at the position, the safety should be versatile (i.e. Ken Hamlin, who able to move from Free Safety to Strong Safety) and maybe Greg Wesly could provide that.)

Cons :: ??????

The Chiefs, who begin offseason practice on Monday, believe they are set at safety with starters Jarrad Page and Bernard Pollard, veteran reserve Jon McGraw and third-round draft pick DaJuan Morgan.
That really should tell you all you need to know.

If Henry can't stay healthy at cb why do people believe he will at FS where he'll have to tackle more often?

I was at Chiefs training camp 2 years ago and I had asked him if he was still chasing Terry Glenn (this previous season Glenn beat him on a flea flicker play at Texas Stadium). He told me to suck his... you know what.. Apparently he thought I was gay.

Wesley is part of a terribad DB crew in KC and has been for a while.

He made more plays then the other guys but his overall coverage skills weren't great.

He is far past his prime and we are better off with Roy by far.

Roy had 2 INTs, 92 tackles and 5 passes defensed last year.
Wesley had 30 tackles 3 passes defensed and zero ints.

Sometimes the grass is greener right here.

Now I understand why Adam has to create Roy fallacy threads....

I don't have a problem moving Henry to FS and Hamlin to SS. But I think Pacman would start instead with Jenkins coming in as the Nickel CB. I don't think this will happen though. The coaching staff seem to be set on not moving Henry to FS and keeping Roy at the SS spot.
