Watching lesser talented defenses dominate games is enuf to drive me nuts. If we had William's aggresive, attack style defense we would be killing teams.

Keep dreaming. Guys like Williams are not "Parcells guys"

They would question him and if he yelled at them like he has his current assistants they would push back.

Guys like Williams are the one's who made Parcells and go on to do great things.

Yea Im sure Bellicheck and Weiss were just yes men 2. I bet they never questioned him and Im sure Keyshawn and Bledsoe were lying when they said BP was more open to what they have to say and he listens to their opinions more then when he coached them before.

Parcells has changed. He no longer can work with guys like that. That's why the only guys that come back to work with him are "friends" that need a job. It's not like the players and coaches that have come back to work with him were in high demand.

We all know Parcells obviously is not that open to what the players say because we would have opened up the offense much more then we did because if I recall the players were nothing short of begging for him to do it.

The key to their defense is superb LBs....we can't handle it yet...we need at least 2 new ones, though 1 of those 2 could possibly be Burnett.

We have Super Shanle. The supreme 3-4 LB. We don't need anyone else.

How do you know Parcells "has changed" such that he can no longer work with guys like that? Maybe it's a matter of them graduating from the Parcells' school of coaching and elevating themselves to the head coaching positions that they now deserve. If you look at the demeanor of Weiss, the guy looks, walks and talks eeriely similar to Parcells. Bellechik has also come back and coached many times with Parcells.

We didn't open up the offense because our offensive line is trash. Yes, you can blame that on Parcells - except for the injury to FA and a wussy 2nd rounder who can't play through pain - but you can only build so much in a year.

this might be a stupid question, but did Dat Nguyen retire?

...he didn't file his papers yet. I would expect that if he was going to he would wait for the time when his cap would carry over to next year for the team's benefit and I would expect Jerry to call a newsconference for him.

As long as Mike Zimmer is here it will not matter what scheme we use or how much talent we have it will still be the same read react bend dont break defense that gets no pressure on QBs has very few tackles for losses and never good at forcing turnovers.

Greg Williams - can make the talent he has play better.

Zimmer - can take great talent and hold them back and just make them average.

Wolv, I couldn't have posted it better myself.

I was hoping another team would take him, but if it happens it looks like its going to have to be another college team because the NFL has figured the guy out.

People focus on Zimmer and say "but his D's haven't held leads" -- I totally disagree -- not that we haven't held leads -- we haven't -- but as to who is at fault.

Who loses slim leads? teams that leave slim leads for their opponents to attack. Zim has lost slim leads because we don't have the O to blow teams out.

the key is experience, that's hard to come by in the 1st year in a new scheme

get used to Zimmer running the D, cuz looks like he might be staying

and for your last part, Zimmer taking great talent and holding them back? dude...

1st year starter at FS, rookie at ROLB, 2 1st year starters for the majority of the year at MLB, rookie at LDE, and not to mention 1st year in a new scheme

hell, with all that, our D still managed to shut down hot offenses, although not when it counted, but could that be the effect of us being in the 1st year in the 3-4, and alot of young players playing major roles in that 3-4? and we improved on D from a year ago

I'll take it

Man this is the argument me and my cousin continue to have. First things first, if anyone knows why zimmer was able to stay when parcells took over, please feel free to enlighten us. I would just like to know did he impress parcells enough to stay or was he one of jerrys guys that was able to stay on staff.

The main thing that upsets me is that like in an earlier post its evident that zimmer has been figured out. We have good players on this def but we're so busy holding em back with our passive scheme. Every team has 6'5 guys on the team that weigh 266 or so, but how do u use em is the key. In my opinion zimmer lacks creativity, which is something u must have as a def coordinator. We would be best served allowing this guy to move on. Hopefully that happens, but i don't think any other teams want that either.
