Gregory may get suspended for pot use again, but just saw an interest article on legalization.

There are only 8 teams that are located in states that do not allow medicinal marijuana.
Can you guess where those states are? ;)

Irrelevant.

But I do think NFL policy has to evolve. You've got medical applications relevant to pro athletes that provide far less a high than legal pain killers.

You could have a player managing pain with capsules of cannabis oil or with oxycontin.

But, yeah, marijuana is evil

How strict the NFL is on marijuana makes my head hurt. I'm not gonna go on about it but the lenght of suspensions they give out are ridiculous.

Keep partnering up with those booze companies though NFL.

just curious. I know that he has admitted to smoking pot in the past but it isnt in anyway addictive. Was it ever made public what drug(s) he has been failing for?

Weed is addictive for folks who use it to treat mental illness. That's where he's at.

Did you know that many uses provide no high at all? Just relief from symptoms?

You didn't and your opinions reflect ignorance
A high or not employment law can be as restrictive or as loose as they want. Should a construction company let a guy run a crane even though he is on a prescribed drug if their liability insurance company says "Zero tolerance" or take a higher risk bracket premium. Companies may say sure medical marijuana is fine but that individual based on risk may not be able to work his "job" until he is off it for liability reasons. Or should the Marijuana Advocates be allowed to tell business they drug tests should not be a part of pre-employment screening?

maybe you're right.
Just seems all players when they fail for drugs state it was pot and I would do the same. The player isnt obligated to make the real drug public. Most of them probably are from pot but when a player starts failing numerous times makes me wonder. Thats why I was asking if the NFL ever made the results public. Not trying to start anything-just thinking out loud.

I don't care if marijuana is legal in 50 states. If the NFL wants it banned from their sport they have the right and players must follow it.
I drive truck and go through Colorado all the time but as a truck driver I can not have any drugs (including weed) in my system. That's the law, in my case, and if I want to work I must abide by those

What could the league do if it was prescribed? I would think that there would be ways around league policy.

I think the appeal centers on that. He was reportedly in rehab at the time. Seems largely a procedural issue - missed a test because he was in a facility that tests him. If that was the issue, the appeal should remove the suspension

Has this been reported? If he missed a test while in rehab then he *should* win his appeal, but I have never seen this reported

His mental issues have come from sports writers suggesting something. I haven't read anything from the medical field that have diagnosed his symptoms suggesting he has that. Just speculation. If anyone has a credible link please post.
