The biggest weakness of this D right now is simple-- they don't tackle well. They are struggling with basic fundamentals. I'm sure Marinelli is pulling his hair out. They are in the right position and if the player in position would make the tackle like he's supposed to-- we'd stop getting gashed in the flats and at the second level repeatedly.

We miss Scandrick for sure. Our secondary is regressing in terms of tackling ability-- maybe they're trying to do too much? I hope the addition of Hardy, Gregory, and Ro can help calm everybody down and improve the overall discipline of the unit. It is so frustrating to watch guys whiff on tackle after tackle.

Finally. Even during the few plays he's actually been on the field this year, he was noticeably electric and just jumped off the tape. You add that to what Hardy is bringing and you have something really special brewing.

He really was..... I watched some youtube clips, with his college highlights, thought he was good, but didnt get all the hype??

But those first couple games. wow. ......I think we got one for the ages.... I am really looking forward to seeing him play.

any receiver trying to throw his hands up as he runs into a defender needs to have their ribs broken. No free pick plays anymore. That and play more aggressive press so they can't take a defender out of the play without running into the intended receiver as well.

Sloppy tackling for sure, but when you give the Patriots 8 straight possessions (including 2 or 3 short fields) before your offense decides to move (notwithstanding a FG) then something is going to break, especially with an endless barrage of picks and rub routes.

Dallas crossed the 30 yard line only once in the first half (FG) and didn't cross the 30 again until around the 9 minute mark of the third quarter. A pretty putrid display of offense.

Wont matter if they dont start tackling like last season, Eli gets rid of the ball fast and lets his recivers get the YAC, also Vereen is a poor man Dion Lewis, luckily the Giants dont use him as much as they should

This will be huge. IF Gregory demands a double team, then Hardy is left 1 on 1. If Hardy demands a double team (like vs. Patriots), then Gregory is left 1 on 1.

Yes! And when you have McCLain lurking in the gaps ready to come watchl out.

One thing about these additions. The new Giants offense has Eli getting rid of the ball in and around 2 seconds. I sure as hell hop Rod plays press coverage with a safety over the top with Beckham.

It would be inexcusable to play soft and get a great pass rush and then have them dink and dunk on us. You just know they would bust a couple because Church or Wilcox miss an arm tackle. The Giants game should be the most aggressive game plan we have had in years.

Good. Hopefully he gets acclimated quickly.

Should be fun to watch him and Hardy for the rest of the year. Hopefully, Hardy is brought back and the two of them can really tee off on things next year in our playoff run. In the meantime, I'll enjoy watching them play for the next 11 games of the season

How many times have we sacked Eli? He gets the ball out quick so even with Hardy and Gregory it will be tough to get at him. DB's have to really play press and hope that Eli can hold the ball a bit longer.

Who cares? Dallas still got pressure on him and we smothered their receivers in Week 1. That's why the Giants couldn't do anything offensively. I don't care if we get sacks. As long as Dallas continues to hit him and make him uncomfortable and not allow him to sit in the pocket like he did in previous years.

So, I wonder if Hardy will play some DT every now and then so we have Gregory, Lawrence, and Hardy on the field all at the same time.

Nobody from the Cowboys said that. Stephen Jones had been saying Dez will likely be back after the bye week. The original time line was always 6 weeks. The Giants game is right at that time frame. Garrett said he was progressing. Not practicing yet, but he sounds like he could get out there soon.
