FOX Sports 1 is reporting Gronk has a torn ACL

Sucks that he has to face another injury late in the season. The guy just gets beat up.

It really makes me appreciate Jason Witten even more. I know in threads speculating on whether Witten will make the Hall of Fame it would come up that Gronk and other young tight ends would put up such big numbers to make Witten not look worthy by the time Witten was eligible. Injuries like this to Gronk or to Jermichael Finley just show that it is tough to go out there every week and produce the way Witten does or Tony Gonzales as well.

I know this is mere suspicion, but I think it's steroid related.

where else are defenders supposed to target at this point? nfl is basically forcing them to go low.

there's going low and there's targeting a knee, dude targeted Gronk's knee.

the dude from Cleveland flat out went after his knee and got it.

No he didn't. Watch the play again, the Browns DB didn't even hit the knee. He got hit in the THIGH right when his foot was touching down and THAT is what tore the knee, not the impact of the hit itself.

And with the wussification of the league there's nowhere else for DB to aim. They don't want to risk their helmet accidently grazing the receivers helmet and getting a fine or suspension so they have to go low.

high ankle sprain
broken forearm that ultimately required multiple surgeries
torn acl

come on, guys. that's just bad luck.

The broken forearm was also the result of bad medical advice. They rushed him back after he broke it the first time and it resulted in a re-brake.

How does blowing your ACL after taking a low hit constitute a steroid problem?

First, let me say I have no proof. I'm merely speculating.

Second, it's not just this injury. He is injury prone. He's a physical specimen, and yet he's always injured.
One of the signs of steroids is injuries to tendons and muscles, and your bones are not as strong.
I look at other tight ends like Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten. They're not nearly the specimen as Gronk, but they don't get nearly as injured as he does.

Again, I may be totally wrong, and I won't get upset with anyone who disagrees with me. But that's my suspicion.

Yes. He can't stay healthy. Thank you for proving my point.

Not staying healthy is not the same as "injury prone". Miles Austin is prone to injury. Gronkowski can't stay healthy. They are 2 different things.

I wouldn't be pleased either if Ward had ended the season of a player I'm counting on to get me to another Super Bowl.

Nonsense. You need to watch the play again. He went directly at the knee. It's a long way from the knee to the head on a man 6'7.

Hurting your knee by a guy launching himself at it is a little hard to avoid. I don't think he is injury prone.
