Group Chat: Drafting an OT in the 1st and do TE's take the next step up

Taking an OT in the first wouldn't be a bad idea. Have Steele, Guyton and the rook battle it out for the OT starting spots with the loser being the swing tackle. Handing the LT job to Guyton wasn't the best of plans.

As for the TEs, I have to believe that concussion Ferg suffered wasn't fully healed when he returned. From what I heard it was a really nasty one. Schoon could make a significant jump in quality of play, and be TE1 if Ferg doesn't get back to 2023 form.

Will add this also about the TE's.

will revise thread title to add this.
"What's Next: The Cowboys are happy with the bodies they have in the tight end room" I think I'm tickled as well, Ferg needs to be better, maybe it's because Dak wasn't there. We know he was injured, Schoon did fine for us, a lot of people still are down on him, with the opportunities he was given, I think he did solid

Sir Brevan Spann Ford (As Mike Fisher calls him) lol want to see more of him.

Stephens- He's on his last limb, probably won't make the practice squad

I noticed when BS did his coordinator PCs last year, he seemed to really love Ford and his physical nature. Seemed to me to be more lukewarm on Schoonmaker.

Stephens was recovering from a knee injury. He showed some good signs. I will wait and see how he does. But if the draft a TE, he is the odd man out, unless he really has a stand out TC.

I like what I seen in Spann-Ford also. And he is the bigger type TE they need.

right, he's been injured too often, not helping his cause, but we shall see

Trade down and get WR/RB/DL

I think we have depth at the OL with guys they've brought in and guys we've had since last year. We can pick up guys to fix this D and fix this offense
There, that wasn't so bad now was it? I'm not a fan of taking a WR in the first. Fixing the defense should be the priority from where I sit.

Wasn't bad at all, just thought you were being a wise guy with the "give me your thoughts", no time for jokes, it's draft season baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hammer:

I don't think a team has ever said "we just have too much talent on the Oline". When they are picking at 12 if OL is the highest rated player on the board I wouldn't be mad at all if they took him.

I think Guyton and Steele are the worst tandem in the NFL. Add to it that they are unreliable too. They have to draft a OT early. Further my starters would be Richards and the Rookie. Steele needs to go and Guyton must prove himself. He was terrible last year.

The Cowboys will continue to work with Asim Richards as a potential candidate to compete. Richards has the ability to play both tackle and guard, which is always useful, especially on game days when the roster is limited.
I remember how much they liked Richards in college. They almost traded up for him and were super giddy when they landed him. He was looked at as a very raw player who needed a couple of years to become a starter. Well, those 2 years are up. Can he start in this league or is he just a rotational piece?
