That is what we need out of FA. As long as we resign Columbo. If not, then McQ gets his shot at starting next season. There are no good tackles out there - Pettigout is the highest ranked and he has those back problems.
I am hoping to get Steinbach, but Dielman would do fine. If it is necessary, maybe Davis. Backup QB I am thinking Rattay.
IF all three of those guard prospects turn out to be too expensive, then I guess we have to draft one and hope our luck gets better in drafting O linemen.
The only other possibility is if we do move Henry to FS; then we need to either get a first rd type CB or find one in FA- and outside of Clements I do not see any. I also do not see any good FS's is FA either. I am hopefull that Wade thinks Watkins can do it this season.

the more i think the more i think dallas either goes with davis or gandy. steinbach and deilamn are going to be too pricey for jerry this yr. and dont rule out the draft. but i think that would be a mistake. there isnt anythig in the draft at guard but average players and lighter rookie contracts.

love the rattay idea.

but i hate the henry idea. i'd love to just watch watkins mature in the posistion. he did 300% better at the end of the yr. seems like he did alot more film study and knew his signements better then the begining of the yr.

I think Henry is moved only if during TC Wade thinks we have no choice.
Gandy is one I had not thought of- do not know if he is good enough. Proctor might be better. Hard to tell.

procter i dont ever see being anything more then what he is. a scrub. if he was anything, he would have replaced rivera who was horrible last yr. contract or not rivera didnt deserve to start.

stick a fork in Rivera, no doubt. even JJ pretty much has admitted that.
Proctor is a guy that BP thought had potential- and I seem to recall that a couple of other teams were interested in him. But realistically he is a developmental guy. We need a starter THIS year.

lol forgive my lough out loud but parcells OL assessments dont mean much. he had 4 yrs to prove it different but he struck out in virtually every OL decision he made except for colombo.

Gee Burm, you don't think Al Johnson can be our guard?

I'm hoping we sign a starting OG, backup QB & a NT who can alternate with Ferguson in FA. Also think we need to re-sign Colombo (Pettigout is a lockerroom problem, etc.), Gramatica & Crayton along with McBriar, etc.

This gives us the option of drafting at needed positions on first day but only using the principales of BPA. I think we go CB (Glenn turns 35, Henry 31 & Newman 29 & Henry could be moved to FS if Watkins shows he can't do the job and we'd have our young CB available), DE/LB and OL. On 2nd day we go BPA or BAA at RB/OL/QB, etc.

McQ and proctor still are canidates; Rogers was a good player with no heart.
Peterman; just hard to figure that guy- he was VERY highly rated by everyone. Petitti could still be shown to end up as good. Tucker was a blown shot. Johnson gave us two years as a starter. BUT I say take a good hard look at other teams and few did much better.

Just to be devil's advocate here, Parcells was right about Flo and Gurode. Both have made the Pro Bowl. Parcells thought each player was better than he had played thus he stuck with them and pushed them hard to make them achieve. Add Colombo to that mix and he gave us three starters on the OL before his departure. Not bad.

I am not saying he was a mastermind in making our OL the best in football because he sure struck out with Rogers, Peterman, Tyson Walter, Ryan Young, Jason Fabini and others I can't even remember.

Untill FA is over speculating on the draft is worthless. I do not see us getting much more then what I said in FA. NT- I think that depends on what Wade thinks of Mont.

parcells was wrong about gurode. atleast he admitted that much in wasting 2 yrs of his career trying to make him into a guard. hes a center

Ryan Young just could not go anymore with his injuries. Fabini- hard to tell.
Peterman, rogers, Tucker and Walter were strikeouts for various reasons. I think Rogers could still have been good if he had had any guts or heart.

BP wanted him to be a guard which he had also played at Colorado- and when he came out he was thought to be good at either one. Just turns out that he is better at center- BP admitted he made a mistake- BUT I BET that its only due to BP that Gurode got a last shot last year.
