Very addicting game. The battle modes are incredible and the songs are fantastic. I was destroying some teenagers last night and my 7 year old.

I went down to the Crossroads prior to opening my GHIII game.

The guitar pieces are very similar. The songs come at you the same way in both games. You have the neck of the guitar and then the buttons rolling down for intro's, chorus etc.

The RockBand guitar controller is much better than the GUIII controller. I have played RockBand and that game will be my next purchase. I wanted to get this for my son so that he could get his feet wet w/ the controller before spending the 159.00 for RockBand.

The cool thing about Rockband is all of the different instruments plus the vocals. We play it here in town at a local bar I go to. Everyone loves it.

I think you will really enjoy that purchase Duane. I play the drums. Very hard to play when you aren't used to playing w/ your feet and hands. It can be tough in the beginning.

Also - the GHIII controller works w/ Rockband but the Rockband controller doesn't work on GHIII.

Did you get this for the 360/ or PS3?

I got the 360 version. Like your experience, drums were a lot harder than guitar, bass or vocals.

It's still a ton of fun. I bet I spent 10 hrs playing this weekend.

I haven't played it, but the developers have said if you can beat it on expert on drums, you more than likely could play them in real life just fine.

Hey, I play drums on the warmup songs on easy now without sucking too bad. Of course I've only put in maybe 45 minutes total on the drums so far.

On guitar I haven't had too much trouble with anything on easy (85% or above at least) and I'm doing ok with the early songs on medium. I've also found it pretty easy to play the guitar like a cello standing it vertical and using the buttons near the base of the guitar as opposed to those at the end of the neck. That probably won't work on more difficult settings.

I tried RockBand last week. Awesome package. I really like the singing on the mic with it...But I can not get used to the clickety clack drums. I play the drums in real life pretty good but me and the RockBand drums do not mix. I try and play the song the way you would really play it and I just fail. Maybe it's a calibration issue that I can fix in the options though.

Has anyone hacked the game so that you can use your real electric drums in it yet? I would love to use my Roland set.

Whoa, thanks for the link man. Looks like a lot of work to do but I just might do that if I decide to buy RockBand for myself.
