Looks like the Houston area will be spared from a lot of damage. The Texas/LA border will see major flooding though due to low-lying land and a huge surge. Looking like my in-laws berry farm near Beaumont will be under water again for the third time in two years

I grew up in Lake Charles and one of my brothers still live there. He left yesterday for Mississippi but says his house in Westlake survived. Now there is a chlorine leak in Westlake that is serious. Glad he is not there. The town of Lake Charles tho is a war zone per friends I still hve there.

Think Laura's eye wall or what is left of it has journeyed into Arkansas. It passed about fifty miles west of where I am in northeastern Louisiana. We had really big wind and rain gusts but nothing like what anyone experienced at landfall.

I have co-workers who tele-commute from Shreveport. Hope they fared well also.

I'm back. We evacuated (My wife and I and 3 grown, semi-grown kids) Went to FW ... a quick 26 hour trip. 4.5 hours each way. No damage. No power.

There was some downtime in between the 4.5 hour drives at a Holiday Inn Express waiting on the storm to clear East Texas.
