Gurley gets 4 yr $60m extension

Another big extension for a guy not named Aaron Donald!

I can only imagine that his contract numbers will be huge when they're announced soon.

But there's no doubt about it, the Rams are going all in on this run!

Paying that for a RB is just nuts. LA Rams are on the verge of becoming dysfunctional if they keep doing ill-advised stuff like that.

Over 2,000 yards and 19 TD’s + a very reliable blocker. Yes, some RB’s are replaceable. Todd Gurley isn’t 1 of them. It’s really not a crazy # compared to the best offensive players in the game.

Running backs being valued again I believe is the result of our 2014 campaign with Murray's production assisting Romo with his best year as a QB. Backs started getting taken in the first round again after that season. Todd Gurley at 10 and Melvin Gordon at 15 the very next draft in fact.

Look what the Steelers just did to Le Veon Bell. He wanted to be paid like the best offensive weapons on that team and he got told "NO". RBs don't get paid like that. No matter how good they are. Rams will regret paying Gurly like that. The Cowboys have already shown how they value RBs... look at what they did to Murray after rushing for the most yards.

I wonder if he's signing autographs for cash again. ;)

That's a lot.

But at least he's only 23. If he was 27 or 28, that'd be an entirely different story.
It's when teams pay a RB that will be approaching, or into their early 30s before the contract is over that doesn't make sense. He'll only be 27-28 when this contract is over.

Suh not being paid is gonna come back to bite them big time. Theres no way they can keep everyone happy and signed. To not have the best football player on the team locked up before anyone else is foolish. If Donald is smart he'll hold out.

So Zeke will be getting 4 years 70mil+ for carrying the offense outside of the line, and people have a problem with that but are ready to pay a guy 25-30 mil A YEAR after an up and down two seasons, and have many concerns going into year 3? I'm not understanding the concern for one but not the other.

Gurley is 23, turns 24 in a month. Has 2 more years on his current deal. This contract keeps him until he is 30. We will see what kind of staying power he has.

Defenses are so much bigger and faster that it makes longevity more difficult for RBs. Rams might not be very happy the last 2 years of that deal.
