I did a search, and it doesn't look like anyone's posted it yet, but according to Prisco of CBS Sportsline Gurode has gotten some attention from a couple of defensive coordinators.

Good for Gurode, Newman, and Ware. No Roy!??! Loses credibility right there. I'm not saying he is the best thing since sliced bread, but he is definitely a top three safety in the NFC. Get real!

Eh. I could see Roy not making the list. Back on the subject though, Gurode has been our most dependable lineman this year. I never ever would have figured that at the beginning of the year.

This season Roy Williams is closer to a bottom three safety than a top three safety.

Every safety gets burned, but nobody has as many impact plays (turnover, hits) that Roy has this season. Its not even close. Why don't you buy a book and learn the game sometime?

If Gurode does make it to the pro bowl, can you imagine how much Jerry Jones would have to pay him at starter center rates? Bet Jerry pays it cause we've been looking for a good center for years and won't let Gurode get away but do hope incentives are built in so Gurode maintains, and in second season as a starter, continues show improvement even as a backup pro bowler.

lol

It is always a different excuse for Roy from the blind homer crowd.

Get him a real FS.

Get him a real pass rush.

Get him a real coach.

Get him a real scheme.

Now it is well, every safety gets burned. :lmao:

Lets face facts.

Roy just isn't very good this year.

He's still a fairly young player however.

Maybe if he acknowledges the fact that he is fat and slow and needs to rededicate himself to getting better in coverage then he may finally realize his potential of being a top safety in the NFL.

Except that he has been vastly better than almost every other safety in the NFC, including Sean Taylor. There aren't even (intelligent) Commanders fans who would argue that Taylor should make the Pro Bowl this season. He has been burned more than Roy and has only one takeaway to Roy's league-leading seven.

While Roy has his faults, the question should be asked. Who is playing better than him at the safety spot? And not just on reputation or sportscenter highlights. Who at the safety spot that someone watches fairly regularly can honestly say that he is better than Roy. The list would be short, I imagine.

And that's pretty good to hear Gurode is getting some love. I've been real impressed by his play this year.

If you are watching the Philly/NY game then you are seeing, by far, the best safety in the NFC in Brian Dawkins.

He is dominating.

So far, 8 tackles, 1 INT, and 2 forced fumbles.

Roy should aspire to be half the player this guy is.
