I didn't see the game but the numbers show he had a lot of work tonight... and wasn't all that impressive.
I know folks will run to his defense- as the current darling of training camp- but numbers don't lie.
I was impressed with his toughness, not really his vision. He's very raw

Numbers lie when you don't watch the game. Go away.
But he wasn't impressive. Numbers are telling the truth.
On short yardage and goal line he was excellent. That is all he would ever be asked to do this year.
So let's recap again.
McFadden is doing what he has done his entire career and finding ways to get injured.
Randle has looked a little above average in TC, and is also injured.
Dunbar is merely a scatback and is also injured.
Golden Boy Williams proved he has no place in the NFL.
And Johnson looks like a JAG who needs a year on the practice squad before ever even taking over the #3 spot.
All of this is a month before the season opener and we should be complacent with what we have. Maybe Clutts will be forced again to play HB and become a Peyton Hillis-like story. Here's to you, Clutts!
How'd Melvin Gordan look? 6 carries, 11 yards. We should have drafted a RB right? LOL
Melvin Gordon has about a million times more upside over that JAG.
Should we go through preseason history to see great RBs who did next to nothing on a preseason opener? I doubt you'd want to go down that road.
But hey, let's keep elevating mediocre RBs to be something they are not.
