Jones and Reeves will be lucky to be in the NFL in a couple of weeks. Austin might have a little value.

There was some noise being made not too long ago that the Cowboys were looking to exchange a LB for some CB help. Burnett has a really low cap figure for a guy who plays as well as he does. Carpenter isn't as cap-friendly, but might be a better option for some teams.

I'd guess the rookie kicker is being shopped..Miles as one of the WRs and possibly one of our Lbers..probably not Carp. Possibly one of our FBs, too. Possibly one of our TE's as well.

Pittman..? probably so.

We are looking for a NT, CB and probably another safety.

Nice position if we have enough talent that we might be able to trade some of our surplus.

I didn't see it, was it that we were offering players or that teams were inquiring?

If the other team was inquiring, it would have to be players that showed something in preseason and are a position of relative depth......

Maybe:
Tony Curtis
Miles Austin
Kevin Burnett

I will have to go back and relook, but basically, this is what was said from jerry jones,

media asking him about keeping certain players, or would they be looking to trade some, jerry said that like the trade last year, linebacker to saints, te to jets i think, etc, that the dallas cowboys contacted several teams about 3 players they had in mind that couldnt make the team and that they would trade.

so they put those players out there, let them know they were tradeable, 3 dallas cowboy players, whom they are i have no ideal.

he didn't say a number of players, he just said he has the feelers out there for trades and they are drawing lots of interest, he never said 3 players, not sure where you got that.

What Jones said was there are three positions that other teams are interested in our players.

No trades have been put on the board.

I think the three positions are Punter, Linebacker and Reciever.

One of them was probably for a kicker -- either Gramatica or Folk.

We have only one punter, and we're not trading him.

guesses:
kicker with grammatica being the likely guy.
fullback where polite could be cut.
safety with davis, watkins or most likely abrams getting cut.

i would say kicker too, either folk or gramatica
safety with davis maybe
we cut polite last year 2-3 times, and no team picked him up
miles austin at wr maybe
maybe urban at wr, denvers head coach was impressed with him
i was going to say reeves or nate jones, but way they played tonight no;
they dont have a 3rd down running back after tyson thompson, with battle hurt, so i say no tyson thompson trade

thats all guys i can see possibly traded;

I am pretty sure he said 3 spots, not players meaning position.

He also said that they are looking closely at other teams cuts.

I dont think our 5th corner or backup nt is on the team right now after hearing that.

If our 5th corner is on this team we are in trouble. Reeves...Thomas looked terrible.

I still believe reeves is good enough to play special teams and emergency corner.

I dont see at all what people are seeing in joey thomas, I think he flat out stinks. Not only is he a pass interference waiting to happen but he is tenative when he needs to tackle. I think he has no physical element whatso ever.

We are going to have to hope that someone cuts a veteran corner who is adequate.

I think that the biggest possibilty would be kicker. Both have showed something. And Dallas could dictate were the one goes. That way someone like Washington couldn't grab them up of the waiver wire.

I'd say LB would be a possibilty. Didn't Wade say something like Carp isn't good at being a passrusher?

I'd say FB would be one. Crowded back there.

I agree.

Reeves is solid as an emergency CB. He played decently two years ago when pressed into service.

Remember the Philly game, where he swatted the ball away at the last minute to keep them out of FG range?

I am pretty sure jerry didnt say anything specific, but if I had to take a stab I would bet teams are calling about mcquistan, austin, carpenter, urban, hurd, keith davis and pat watkins.
