guys, if you get cowboys blitz, you might want to watch it, they show cowboys picks, choice is real joyful when we pick him, they also show cowboys trading in more detail, what i gathered out of it, the cowboys were interested in Colllins and another player in the 3rd round before they traded down at 111th pick, pretty interesting,

maybe Hostile can load it up for you guys, i dont know how you do it on YouTube, but i have it saved on my dvr direct tv box.

there was one more player the cowboys were strongly interested in, but they kept pointing to choice the rb if trade down to get him, to get the 3rd extra choice with cleveland next year that they got in the draft

but the other player, besides collins, i couldnt make out who it was,

Are they talking about OT Anthony Collins out of Kansas? So, there was interest in adding another OT. Hmm. Geez. Jerry sure likes to stockpile players at certain positions like OT, CB & RB. Now if he only felt the same way about WRs. Maybe he'll stockpile 1 or 2 WRs in next year's draft cause we'll sure know all we need to know about the guys on the team by then. .

Joe, Hostile doesn't load vids and stuff. I think you're getting him confused with theebs and/or dcfanatic.

Hos is just the site admin..

Not likely, ya know, rookie WR's can't perform like veterans and such.

thats what i see, i have read if the junior wrs come out as supposed to, there could be as many as 6 wrs in first round, now granted if we go to the super bowl this year and win, we wont be able to draft too high,

but with our extra 3rd and 4th rounder, we should be able to get up in high 20's to maybe the 15th to 17th pick, but i dont think we could get any higher, but it would cost us at least oiur # 1, 2, 3 and our extra 3rd and 4th.

now, i hope we dont have to give up all of that, maybe we can make a trade like spears or carpenter if we have too, but use one of those extra picks on another good young OG or OT, maybe a good fs or ss.

and of course if we trade spears or carpenter we will need another DE or linebacker, but we wont need too much next year.

BUT OUR TOP NEED NEXT YEAR WILL BE A WR, IMPACT WR, REMEMBER WAY BACK, WHEN WE DRAFTED MICHAEL IRVIN WITH 18TH PICK, THE 49ERS GOT JERRY RICE WITH 16TH PICK, SO WE MAYBE WONT HAVE TO JUMP UP TOO HIGH, TO GET THAT YOUNG IMPACT WR.

If we can't get Roy Williams in FA next year, then the only WR next year that could come in and start from day one is Michael Crabtree. This kid is a beast! He can take over a game by himself. I haven't seen anything like him college since Moss and Fitzgerald.

Why is the prevailing thought that rookie WR's have to come in and start from day one?

I've heard this excuse year after year as to why we don't take a WR in the first or second round. It makes no sense. I don't think anyone expects Mike Jenkins to step in and start from day one or even in season one. Does that mean we shouldn't have drafted him in the first round?

You'd think we could actually at some point pull the trigger on a WR early in the draft and let him work himself into the lineup and maybe after a season, or even part of a season he could get experienced and become a starter, kind of like most rookies at every other position on the team.

whoops thanks woodys girl, ok, dc, i thought dc and hostile were the same person, whoops my bad, oh well

anyway, i dont think we will have enough ammunition, draft picks to jump way up there and get crabtree, but again, like i said, i have read where there should be about 6 top wrs in next years draft. So, we still should be able to get a impact WR next year.

I do some segments on dcfanatic's radio show. That might be where the confusion lies.

Well, that and we are twin sons of different mothers. We went to different schools together. I went to Penn State, he went to the State Pen.

They don't have to start, unless they are drafted in the first round! Are you telling me with the rookie salaries your going to leave these guys on the bench? They are expected to come in and start. That's why they are #1 draft picks. This has turned to a NOW league. There is no time to waste. Last year for instance, Jamarcus Russell got paid like Tom Brady and played like two games. If I were an owner I would want my money on the field from day one!
Some how the owners need to get a deal going where first round draft picks are given incentive based contracts in there first year. It's ridiculous to have all of this money wrapped up in benchwarmers.
So yes the rookie WR's need to come in and start....this isn't baseball..there are no minor leagues. And Crabtree IMO is the one guy that could come in and start from day one!

I think the actual belief is that fact that WR is such a huge hit/miss in the draft. You can take a guy in the second day and he is your starter for years to come. And you can take a guy in the first and have him be a bum (ask detroit). I think that has more to do with it than anything. And it is a lot harder to find a quality corner than a quality receiver.

I was referring to your implied "grouchiness" (Oscar the Grouch)
