and i would seriously be happy with Sims or Cromartie. They could serve as another OLB, CB, or S. Most people don't know, but when Sims came out of high school, he was the #1 recruit in the country. As silly as this sounds, but when Cromartie was going into his junior year his rating was a 94 on the new college football game. The guy was a stud as was Sims. I know that doesn't translate, but i always knew these guys would be great pros and would have awesome combines. Being a bias fan, i would fall in love with either of these picks, but don't you guys think with losing Glover we really need some depth up front on the D line? Ferguson didn't exactly light things up and while i think Spears and Canty will be fine, what if we get hit with the injury bug? Give me some thoughts.

I am a huge FSU fan too since I was born in Florida but now living in Dallas. I regret that I didn't keep up this year. I do know FSU is known to bring in quality players in the NFL every year. Esp on the defensive side of the ball.

funny, you picked the wrong FSU players.
Actually, Wimbley and Pat Watkins are the FSU players that would suit us the best. Sims is a great player but he's too small to play 3-4 OLB and Crotchrottery....another CB? ***?

Believe me, i know about Wimbley and Watkins. Wimbley wasn't always dominant and the games i saw (college football package, not living in Florida) i didn't think he was suited for us. Watkins i would take a look at in the 2nd round, but i don't know that he would be available. If they could swing some sort of deal to get Watkins i would gladly oblige. Davis is a liability in coverage!

Cromartie if healthy would be a steal....he has the speed......huge size to dominate at the next level. IMO:rolleyes:

He's also very versatile. Simms is a litle on the small side but he's a baller. Wimbley has only started one year but he did pretty well good upside. Cromartie has all pro written all over him

Wimbley could be a Cowboy. If Buffalo takes Bunkley, Cleveland will take Nagata. The only other candidate for Wimbley before us is Miami. Ideally if Wimbley, Lawson and Carpenter are all there at 18, we'll feel good about moving down some. But Wimbley would be ok at 18.

I've said it before but other than Huff I really don't want a FS in the 1st. But this guy Cromartie demands a look. If he hadn't gotten hurt he'd be a cinch for the top 10. Yes he's a CB but at 6'2" 210 he has ideal size for safety, even if you moved him back to CB in a few years. He could be a difference maker so it wouldn't be bad to take him at 18.

Why? Because these Noles obviously aren't fair weather fans like gayters. When is ** going to sack up and schedule the Canes?

Being an FSU alum, I thought that I would stay out of this thread but once you start ragging on uf. All bets are off.

Sims IMO is a little to small for BP style of play but there was always and exception see Dat.

Cro is an above average sized corner at 6'2", he is Deion without the flash and 'start to top speed' quickness that Deion had in the day. But he has the skills to be a very good corner not shutdown(b/c there are any shutdown corners any more).

I agree with ghst with the picks of Pat watkins and Wimbley would help alot. Watkins was more of a deep safety last year because of the lack of experience at corner for FSU. FSU play more of a cover 2 last year instead of attacking near the line of scrimmage. He was out of position a few plays but made an effort to the ballcarrier.

Wimbley had a problem last year of being lazy, he did not start play up to his ablilities until the end of the year. When he was on his game usually one on one with the guard b/c of Bunkley's play (true stud). If BP gets a hold of Wimbley, he would become a big time stud like Corey Simon before the donut diet of last year for the Colts.

Just my 13 cents!!!

Go Noles

What out of conference games do the semenholes play besides UF? Try playing Auburn, LSU, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina and then play FSU(out of conference) to end the season. scUM is no longer an out of conference game for FSU. They HAVE to play eachother. And let's not forget last season. Was it 34-7? And the year before?

We were only putting uf down because you guys dropped UM from the schedule. After the Charlie Pell 'problem', before you start with the Free Shoe University comment, think of something better for a change.

I know FSU has a soft out of conference schedule this year with Troy, Rice, and Western Michigan(who?) but we do have a tough in conference schedule (BC, NCSt, UM, UVa, and possible the Conf Championship game).
