Guyton to play this week

If they spend another first round pick on an OL that would just show you this team has no idea what they are doing.
Building the trenches in early rounds is not a bad thing. Now paying a QB (like he is better than all other QBs in the NFL) that is average might be a huge tell the FO is full of idiots.

A big ask to have these two players just back from injury with no preseason reps to be thrown in the fray against the Eagles. Maybe should have picked an easier opponent for their first game back that won’t require them to be on-point so-to-speak.
P
Completely agree. By week 13 he will find his way to seat on the bench.
my expectation for Guyton are higher then yours.

Year experience in the system
Year experience at LT.
Full offseason.
New position coach.

I mean, it's like night and day compared to a year ago.
Ah ok.

I thought you had some chance to watch him. Or have some other sources that gives you a real chance to judge how develops.

Everything else you said sounds more of "i hope he will be better".
Your reasoning is very "vanilla" to say the least. From your "logic" every player will be better on this team. Which i seriously doubt.

Just to clarify some stuff:

- he had no full offseason. He did not play in preseason games and was hurt most of the time. He still is injured but was cleared for the game.
- We are talking about NFL experience when you use the word "experience" right? Because else it would not make any sense. The guy already has years of expereience at tackle in college. So by saying that: he has not 1 year of experience at LT. He was benched for an medicore backup player midth of last year because he was just bad.
- since this season we have a complete new coaching staff. with of course new systems. so where does he have experience in the system. Also his biggest problems never were systemic ones. He is just not good at the fundamentals of the tackle position.

The guy is a project. When he was drafted he was very raw. He needs a lot of time to develop. And that means playing time and training time. Which both he did not have last year and not this offseason.

Two injured players no multiple day speculation before game day? No doctor Jerry weighing in for weeks? No espn discourse?

We’re moving up I see…

Well at least both of them have been full participants in practice this week.

Also I think Milton should get prepared because we haven't seen dak all pre-season and don't know if he can escape the pass rush if Guyton has a slip up.

I don't get all the celebration because Guyton is going to play. We haven't seen him play at all this year. He hasn't even really practiced. He was a sack and penalty machine last year. How do we know it is a good thing he can play? At best it is wishful thinking.

As for Diggs, lower your expectations, a lot. He is coming off a second knee injury and rehab. I don't think he ever recovered from the first one. It could take a while before he starts to look like the Trevon Diggs before the injuries. I just hope he isn't rushing to get back on the field and he gets reinjured.

Did you not see him training in that torrential downpour in that video? It took a ton of skill to not allow that camera to get wet or fall over. Obviously that translates to the field.
Damn. I missed that.

But that explains a lot. Thank you for the heads up.

I agree. I'm a little nervous on Guyton missing so much time in camp and coming back so soon. Would love for him to prove me wrong, but it feels like he still has a ton to prove in this league before I get excited that he is cleared to play.

Diggs I'm a little more optimistic on because of the position he plays. I do have some lower expectations coming off injury(s), but CBs you can rotate in and out fairly easily to pick your spots with him.
