the guy was so obsessed with Norv being the guy he is now wondering that Wade had to be a last second decision by Jerry and not something he was looking at very long. Hilarious. one insider report someone posted on here today mentioned some at Valley Ranch felt Wade was the leading guy for awhile....

Mr. Jones can make you believe one thing and do another........he keep secrets very well. I read the same thing, that Mr. Jones wanted Phillips all along.

i love mickey, but sometimes he just needs to accept that, like all of us, you aren't always right.

but he still writes the best cowboys columns for my money.

Here's my take on this.

Jerry did what he was supposed to do. Leave no credible stone unturned.
Interview all and see if some unlikely candidate just knocks your socks off.

Also use the multiple interviews as a means to collect valuable outside opinions on the current roster.

Don't underestimate the value of this. It's important!

I think all along Phillips and Turner were his lead candidates.
Jerry Jones, myself and anyone who understands even a little about the game realize that this team is a contender.
It needed an experienced HC. Not a young guy you might want to start a rebuilding project with.

I believe he was leaning toward Turner.
This may be why he didn't answer the question of who he was leaning to.
Perhaps he didn't wish to outright lie about it.
At the same time saw no reason to confirm a leaning toward Turner and insult his new HC.

Yeah you get what you pay for... and his articles are free.

I think had Jerry been left alone that he would have hired Turner and that owuld have been that.

One thing really struck me at the presser. Someone had mentioned that he looked really old and it had me thinking. he was talking about his son and how he had done most of the leg work during the entire hiring process and that he thanked him for everything and the entire time he is getting all misty and crying and having to pause.

The guy is getting old and he knows it. i mean in 12 years he will have passed the average lifespan of an american male and he has to know that his time is running out. He has tried various things over the last decade and none of them have panned out and i think this realization has humbled him to a certain point.

There is no question that he wants to win badly and any question about that should have been answered when he hired Parcells. He will do whatever it takes.

10 years ago jerry would have hired Turner and that would have been it. He is a friend and a vestige of the glory days but this jerry i think sat down listened to Stephen and his coaches and scouts and made a decision based on that.

I really hope it works out for him cause he puts all he has into our team and id like to see that pay off.

Very well said. I think Jerry is genuine in wanting the best for this team, and not just for the dollar signs.
