Why has this guy fallen off the map on here? I havent hear anyone talking about him, and in my opinion he may the be closest to NFL ready out of the whole crop. With Lynch and Goff taking the high picks does this leave Hackenberg falling? To us? And if he does, do we grab him? Thoughts?

Accuracy issues. Bad accuracy issues. Also questionable decision making. It's not just on here he's fallen off, but draft pundits everywhere are down on him. Most have him as a 3rd rounder or later.

I watch a ton of BIg Ten football. Seen him play about 15 times the last 3 seasons, including in person two weeks ago. He can be very good in the right offense IMO. I'd take a 4th round flyer on him but NO higher. He has been shell schocked from SO many hits the last few seasons. That Oline at PSU is horrific to say the least. The Nittany Lion faithful think it's him but it really isn't. James Franklin has done a very poor job overall but especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Hackenberg does have accuracy issues but a lot of it is from being so tremendously uncomfortable in the pocket. I'm not making excuses for the kid, just calling it like I see it. Like I said: solid 4th round pick. Put him behind Romo and Cassell to learn for a couple year and go from there. If Dallas doesn't take him around the 4th then I can see a run oriented team like Pittsburgh, Kansas City or even the Bengals taking him.

Everything stated above, and the fact that he's a statue in the pocket. Prob the least athletic QB in the draft.

Hackenberg looks like a 2-3 year project. Would need a good O Line and running game.

Hackenburgh is going to be good. Those posting about accuracy issues just post whats being posted on mock sites. Truth is the guy has no help. No OL and No WRs. Most of the time he is being hit as he's throwing. I think he's going to rise with the combine and workouts.

Sadly, the days of the pocket passer will quickly be over.

Gotta find a kid who's accurate, but can run.

I was never impressed with him... I saw him from his high school days in Virginia, EXTREMELY overhyped.

Bill O'Brien will take him and make a player out of him again.

This has sort of been the the most obvious connection. Texans need a QB badly, O'Brien recruited Hack and loves big, strong-armed QB's who can throw down the field, and he will definitely be available when they pick. Could easily happen.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Peyton Manning considers Houston if/when he's released by Denver. Rumor is he doesn't want to retire and plans on playing again next year, even if it's not in Denver. And that would allow Hack or whatever QB the draft to sit and learn from one of the best.

i am not sure i would think much of the endorsement from a guy who still compares winston to jamarcus russell.
