They still could have had 8 sacks. The tackling was terrible. Not only on McNabb, but on other players as well.

The Eagles passed for 7 YPA and 3.4 yards per rush.

That isn't impressive.

They were handed 14 points.

That isn't to say that the defense played well - they didn't, and their lack of discipline will cost us eventually. If we can't stop the penalties we'll continue to be an also-ran. Maybe Wade needs to stop taking responsibility for their ****-ups.

BUT - the Eagles did not put up a 37 point performance last night. They put up about a 23-24 point performance.

You can tell he is a year removed from the knee injury. He was moving around in the pocket very well and was able to break some tackles. I'm no fan of McNabb but I think peoples own person dislike of him blinds some from the talent he does have.

You are right the defense showed up and they finished the job and because they finished the job we are sitting a 2-0 not 1-1. I agree we need to show improvement within the defense but you can't take 1 game of 16 and come to any real conclusions. Giants defense was one of the better D's last year but you could not tell that in the early stages of last season. As for sacks we got McNabb 4 times with chances to get him a few more but hey give the guy credit he was able to break free on some of the pressure we put on him, last year I doubt he breaks these tackles but now that he is once again healthy he is showing some of the same abilities he had prior to the injury.

I agree. Some might even claim that their team would score 10 touchdowns on the Cowboys since we showed no real defense in the first half. Just imagine playing someone like the Patriots last year with that first half defense.
