Some things that I didn't remember from 1975 (or didn't notice, being 10-years old):
The degree to which Landry used RB by committee, and how much Doug Denison was a contributor to that.
Fitzgerald suddenly forgetting how to execute the shotgun snap, at the most critical moment of the game, and Kyle Davis stepping in for him.
Johnny Unitas did the color commentary, and called the Hail Mary "a better catch than it was a pass." That was true, but how about the strike Staubach threw a couple of plays earlier on 4th and 17, Johnny? (Under 2008 rules, no force out, and Dallas loses that game.)
The ref signaling infractions to the camera, then turning around and doing it again for the folks on the other side of the stadium.
Staubach's intensity.
Mark Washington, who was toasted by Swann two games later in the SB, did a great job on John Gilliam, who was on his way to a 4th consecutive Pro Bowl.
Carl Eller may have been better than I remember, and maybe deserves to be in the HOF after all. While Wright technically didn't give up a sack, Eller got away from him and stopped Roger at the LOS on a scramble. Still, even during the game, they refer to Eller as just "the solid veteran," as opposed to "the great" Alan Page.
Then-LB Randy White playing as a down lineman already in his rookie year.
Cliff Harris returning punts in 1975. And the gift TD by the Vikes that was set up by an obvious fair catch interference that was not called, and was totally ignored by the announcers.
What I did remember, as clear as yesterday, was that orange that somebody threw flying across the screen as Drew caught the game-winner.
Don't suppose there's a chance in hell of seeing the 1975 NFCC that was played the next week in LA.
